Any Chateau Briand brides put there? Just curious what you think- my wedding is there in 2004, and I am so excited and happy at the same time.

Re: Chateau briand
I heard you can explode out of the floor there. Is this true? How does it work? I'm intrigued! What an entrance for the new couple!!!

AntiBride- I also understand that Russo's on the Bay has the same type of thing. I just found this site which has a picture-it'll take a few slides to go through. Chateau brides-is this similar? It's so different than just walking in--so cool!!

Re: Chateau briand
I had my wedding at CB last year so I can answer some of your concerns:
Cakes They have a book with wedding cakes that you choose from. I think you pay extra for some for some of the designs. My mother made another wedding cake (caribbean rum cake) for me, which we were allowed to bring in, so I choose a design from one of her many books. I basically picked a design that I didn't have to pay any additional money for.
In addition, you have to pay for any flowers you put on the cake. Because my mother makes cakes, I usually do not like wedding cakes from catering halls. But the cake was delicious. They have quite a few options for the filling. I think I had strawberry and custard or something like that.
Entrance: We did the entrance through the floor. You go down to a lower level, and you step in the middle and it rises like an elevator. Only my immediate family knew about this, so our guest were quite surprised and excited.
I will post some pictures of our entrance.

Shamma, What a beautiful cake. Please post back and let me know if they say they are able to duplicate.
I am bringing my BP to the Gardens but not the parents. We will take pics with the parents at the CB.
Enjoy your cake tasting!!

Re: Chateau briand
If CB provides the flowers you have to pay extra, my florist is providing our flowers for our cake.
We are going to come up thru the floor, only 2 members of the BP know this and no one else
Natasha can you email me with your mom's number if she does cakes professionally?? Our wedding theme is Caribbean, my FI is from Trinidad and I am Jamaican and I would like a grooms cake made for him. My email addy is [email protected]
Natasha I can't wait to see your pix. Thanks for all the info ladies.
Whoever posted the Russo link thanks as well.
Happy planning all

Re: Chateau briand
I just wanted to let everyone know that I apprecite everyone responding to my post. It is so nice to be able to talk about weddings and not have anyone get bored about it. As of what the rooms look like, I booked this past March and they had a video of the rooms. Ask if they still have the video. My wedding is 3-28-04, I wish it was tomorrow! I have not heard anything bad about the CB,actually everyone seems impressed with the place. I know my florist does not charge extra for flowers on the cake as long as you get your other flowers there. The florist is Colonial Florist in Bellmore. They have been around here for years and I never heard a bad thing about them. there flowers are very fresh and bug free! I highly recommend them, they are reasonable for wedings also. I am thinking of going with Rick and co for the photograpers, has anyone ever heard of them???

Pictures of CB entrance
Here are my pictures. The room was dark and then there was flashing lights and smoke as we ascended in the middle of the floor. We played 'I comming out.' Our guest went wild.
Sorry guys, but those pictures do not look very good on this site. The actual pictures look 100% better, and the video captures our entrance very well too.

Re: Pictures of CB entrance
Natasha thanks for sharing your photos. Did you see my note above??? Did you get my email???
My photographer told me if I wanted clear pix of our entrance to tell them to hold the smoke which I think I will do. You and your hubby looked as if you 2 were having a ball. THat is the song we are considering using as well

To all CB brides
I am just so excited as my day is drawing closer. I only have 46 more days. We will be selecting our menu next week, along with linens, and our cake. We will also be working on the seating chart , if only our guest would retunr those darn RSVP cards. Our cake tasting is on Friday, 21st at 6pm. My shower is on Saturday, the 22nd I am so excited. I hope the planning is going smoothly for everyone. I will let you all know how it goes.
Happy planning

Re: To all CB brides
Shamma- I think that cake is one of the choices in the book of you do not have to pay more for! I think it only has 3 layers. But its really close to what I saw in the book. The only reason I asked about the cakes is b/c my dad kept nagging me before we signed the contract. The cake you like is the one that I said I would choose b/c its the nicest one of the bunch. Please let us know how it goes
