Chateau Briand & Sandcastle Reviews!
This weekend I had 2 weddings (was a bridesmaid in one of them), and an engagement party! It was a whirlwind weekend, but a lot of fun! I just wanted to post a review of the wedding venues for those of you looking into/getting married at them! Everything was perfect; my only issues were more 'food for thought' for my own wedding regarding logistics, and not a complaint about the place.
Wedding #1 - Friday night at Chateau Briand
First, the renovations are GORGEOUS! I loved the art deco styling! We were in the rooms upstairs for both CH and reception. The CH was amazing - definitely get the Italian cheese/cold cut table. It was the REAL STUFF (coming from a 2nd generation Italianite!). The mashed potato bar was definitely the star of the show as well. The only issue is that the bartender was slow and so there was always a slow-moving line. Similarly, the only issue in the reception was also the bar; it didn't open until about 40 minutes after the reception started (but once it did, the line moved quickly). The reception food was delicious. I got the surf and turf, as did my fiance, and it was great. I also had a bite of the chateau briand from a friend, and it was amongst the best red meat I've had at a wedding. We had chipwich sandwiches covered in chocolate for dessert, and it was delicious! The cake looked beautiful as well. Overall, you ladies getting married there will have a wonderful experience!
Wedding #2 - Saturday night at The Sandcastle (I was a bridesmaid)
My other cousin got married here a few years back, so I knew it would be a fabulous wedding. They know how to organize a great time! The bridal suite was really nice; very spacious, modern, and clean. My only suggestion would be to request that they have cold water ready upon arrival because we were all dying of thirst. I never thought about this for my own wedding either - I'll have to ask about this for my place as well!!! The new outdoor area off the CH room came out spectacular. They had heated lamps under some umbrellas so a few people took advantage even in November and sat out there. It will definitely be amazing for a summer wedding. The service during the CH was nice and quick; no waiting on lines, and they were very generous with their scoops of food! The reception food was very good, but honestly I was still full from the CH, that I only had 2 of my shrimp! The bite I took of my aunt's lamb was amazing, and I don't even really like lamb! The Viennese hour was great; my favorite there was the banana crepe. If you don't go with the Viennese, you should seriously consider seeing if that could be made as the plated dessert. My fiance thought that the cake was the most delicious wedding cake he ever had, and it looked beautiful. The only issue I had with service is that they did not go around to refill the coffee cups - another note to self to check if my RH does this. Everything was beautiful, and again, those of you getting married there will have a wonderful experience as well!!
