Chateau La Mer

Chateau La Mer

Has anyone ever attended a wedding at Chateau La Mer. My biggest issue booking a reception hall is not knowing how the food is. Does any have any opinions. Also 1 of my friends had a bridal shower there (I don't really remember the food but the place was beautiful!). Would I look stupid booking my wedding at the same placen?

I am also looking at Larkfield Manor, opinions also appreciated !

I am having my wedding at CLM. You can go for a tasting before you book. They have them every other Wed. The food is amazing! I have never heard of anyone (you can also read many reviews here) that was not pleased with the food, staff or service.
As far as your friend goes...it was only a bridal shower, and chances are it was her mother or bridal party that organized it so it is not like you are really copying her.
My sister had her wedding last year at Larkfield. It was also excellent. It all depends on what you are going for!

My Fh, Mom, FMIL, daughter and I went to the tasting last night!! The food was great. Call them and make an appt. You can bring up to 6 people with you. Make sure everyone brings an appetite b/c they give you an app, salad, a tray of ALL of their dinner choices plus cookies and the choclate fountain along with an open bar. Also ask the DJ for a wedding CD it has all the top wedding songs!!

I went to a wedding there a few years ago and everything was great! I wouldn't worry about being a repeater though, I've been looking at booking there for mine as well even though that's where my cousin had hers. Def go do a tasting though so you're sure it's what you like.

They've had the best food that I tasted yet.

Right now I'm down to them & Douglaston Manor. So far the food at CLM has not beat anyone else out. I went to their tasting in July with my mom, FH & my mom's boyfriend. They all still rave about how good it was. I don't think you can go wrong with just going to the tasting. IT'S FANTASTIC.

As everyone said you get to taste prior to booking and Dh and I picked CLM because of the food/location/price. Dh has his work parties their and then we booked our wedding there then I got the college I work for to book a huge event there. Food/service just great. Good luck!

Dont' worry about the fact that the bridal shower was there..you wouldn't look stupid. As far as the food..I do know they offer food tastings (for free I believe) When I was looking for my RH, I went there and the BM explained they would have occasional food tastings and you could bring up to 4 ppl (including yourself). You don't have to book your wedding to attend. Call and find out when there next one is.

i had my e-party at CLM and the food was DELICIOUS!!!!! our guests kept saying how good the food was and even asked for seconds. I had some of the food too and thought it was great, and thought it was better than alot of other RH's.

Chateau La Mer is awesome! The food is great, and my best friend was just married there in July (otherwise we'd book there too!) They have the best vienniese hour I have EVER seen (so definitely include it, if it is within your budget) - it was off the hook...cotton candy machine, candy station, GIANT apple pie that they set on fire, sundae station, cannoli station, pastry station, chocolate fountain and they even made fresh bananas foster...

I can't imagine adding that vienniese on! So much food! Afer the tasting I was stuffed. I just thought of my guests who would have CH, DInner, cake with cookies on the table..... I don't know if people will eat it.

But I will add on the chocolate fountain option.

people eat it hahaha. Usually from dinner to VH its about 2 hours or more so by then theyre ready for more. The VH tables are always packed with ppl getting a ton of stuff. Theres been times ive gone up to get something and they've ran out of it. People at my wedding even took some stuff home such as bags of popcorn and candy apples

no the seafood bar is $20pp. I think at CLM its $15pp. I didnt have it at CLM for e-party. I had VH at JT for my wedding and i think its the same price as CLM which is $15pp. Definitely not necessary, but just said that ppl do eat it.

Ah, that it's be about an extra $1,500 for me. I figure maybe when it's closer to the date I might add it on if we happen to have some extra money.

I am getting the V-hour at CLM and I think they said the price is $15/pp. I was talking to my photog, who is one of the house vendors at CLM and he said that the V-hour at CLM is by far the best one he has ever seen at any hall. I asked him if he was staying after the cake cutting and he said, your having the viennesse hour? Not to worry, we'll stay!!!!!!

yes i definitely recommend waiting if you want any extras. Its better than doing it when you first sign the contract. Wait until its alot closer to the wedding and seeing where you are financially before deciding. The thing is that if its 2 weeks before your wedding and you want to take it off, they wont but they have no problems adding it hahaha. I would even wait until a month before to see if you can do it. Thats the one thing i wish i did. We had too many extras that we did when we first booked, wish we would've waited
