Yesterday my fiance and I went looking at halls for the first time. We really liked the Chateau La Mer and the Fox Hollow.
If any one has been at either of these two or had a wedding there please fill me in. Let me know the good and bad points about both!
Thanks so Much!

I liked chateau a lot too. except once you get off the pkwy it seemed to take along time to get there down that regular road. there was a school, and like 10 cemetaries. we wanted our friday night wedding so we thought imagine the rush hour traffic.
fox hollow was great, I loved it. except the larger room was to long, we wanted more square/round shape. if we could have had that smaller room there, we'd be at fox hollow. I mean you get the free wedding night at fox hollow, tons of people could also stay at the hotel. it's easy to get to also.

Re: Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow
I've been to one wedding at Fox Hollow, and I honestly can't say anything bad about them. Everything was perfect, the food was delicious, the bridal attendant was amazing, and the bride felt like a princess the entire night. Everyone said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to (that's why I booked).
Okay, I'll say one thing...... the Inn at Fox Hollow is a little pricey, especially if you're having OOT guests, but b/c of that I reserved a block of rooms at the Executive Inn @ Woodbury (down the street) and they have a shuttle service for the OOT guests.

Re: Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow
I was married at Fox Hollow and also attended weddings there. I've always had outstanding service.
My sister was married at CLM in July of 2005 and it was fantastic. The food, view and service were out of this world.
I've never been to the Fox Hollow though so I guess I'm a little biased

I'm getting married at CLM, so of course my vote goes there. You DEFINATELY get your moneys worth at the chateau....you get sooooo much food for the price. The yatch arrival is a great surprise for guests and being right on the water is beautiful.

CLM!!! Can not beat the service or the price!
Check out my review! Our wedding was awesome and planned it in about 4 months.
FH's friends got married at Fox Hollow a few years ago, and everything was great. Just be sure to check out all the rooms there. We were really considering having our wedding there, but we HATED the room we would have had our reception in. The main room (the one connected to the garden) is beautiful though.

I'm getting married at CLM this October so I'm biased. They are awesome! They are so focused on details and make us feel like family every time we go there. The staff, food, view, and most importantly price are the best. HUGE fan of CLM!!!

Re: Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow
I am having CLM i liked it alot more than fox hollow. Its right on the water, The food is amazing and the price was better than fox hollow too. Fox hollow wanted almost $20 more than CLM for a saturday in MAY and they dont offer any more than CLM. Plus CLM bring s u to your CH on a boat! I had 2 friends have their weddings there and everything was awesome!!! the poeple the food everything! The thing that turned me off about fox hollow was all the stairs! The Bridal suite, CH and Banquet hall were all on different floors. ANd the fact i thought it wasnt worth the $$ they quoted me

Re: Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow
Well I booked Fox Hollow so of course that's my preference. I was actually quoted a lot more for CLM than Fox Hollow for a Saturday in July. Fox hollow just changed the menu and side from 7 dinner choices the CH menu is insane!!!! The menu's are pretty different in my opinion, both give you tons and tons of food, but I didn't like how CLM served like pigs in a blanket and those kind of things at the CH, but thats just me. The two places are really different, its kind of hard to compare.

Re: Chateau La Mer and Fox Hollow
I have been to 2 weddings at Fox Hollow, and enjoyed them both. there was lots of food, and it was really good.
CLM, went to TWOTY there, and it was good food and a beautiful place, but I have been warned there are no elevators, so if you have people who can't use stairs they have to sit in a chair and be carried up, which knocks it out for me because of my mother

I never saw CLM in person but it's beautiful in pictures. I thought Fox Hollow was just breaktaking in the fall. You get a lot for the money and I'm getting the wedding night at the INN for free. I think it has a sort of rustic charm but is still sooo elegant which is what I was looking for to have my reception.

I decided to read all the other posts before commenting. From the comments, it would appear that you can't go wrong with either choice.
I got married at CLM and it was outstanding. I have never been to Fox Hollow, but aparently no one has said anything bad about them either. I am sure which ever you choose you will have a beautiful wedding.
GOOD LUCK (and let us know which one you pick)

If I remember correctly I had some say in what they served. I know they did not serve that at my wedding. We did however have spanikopita which was AWESOME!

I just wanted to let you know if you have your reception in the main ballroom downstairs where I had mine it is definately wheel chair accessible. They have 2 ramps. I even walked down one while walking down the aisle.

If you take Sunrise Highway like we did it is MUCH quicker and you wont pass any cemeteries.
