Hey Girls,

So we met with a photographer tonight and he was basically saying that our hall (Crest Hollow) is awful about letting brides take photos before hand. He said they only let you stay in one place and rush you. The weirdest thing was he said they don't let you leave your own cocktail hour to take photos?! It scared me a little but I have never heard anything like this. I get you can't run around whereever you want but this seemed un true.

Any past CHCC brides have any imput?!

My photographer told me the same thing about taking pictures beforehand but I never heard of the cocktail thing!

I was in my friends wedding in October and completely disagree. We took pics beforehand. Their ceremony was on location at 530. We arrived at 230, more than enough time for pics. Everyone was courteous and friendly. I know they used silver fox, not sure if that made a difference???

We took pictures at crest hollow before and we took pictures at two different locations. We also left the reception to take pictures by the pool at night. I had no issue at all with that.

Mara, did you have any problems taking pics during your cocktail hour? We were told to get there 2 hours prior to do most of pics

I did not want to take pictures during cocktail hour so I do not know.

I would talk to your bridal manager now and tell him or her what you would like. Make sure they add it to your contract now! If it is in your contract they cannot say at the end that they will not let you do it.

One thing I learned with Crest Hollow is that they have a million and one rules. Anything you want or talked about you should make sure they put it in the contract (in writing).

This is news to me. Before we booked CHCC FH and I asked several times about taking pictures before the ceremony and we were told it would not be a problem. If they had given us any hint it would be an issue, then we wouldn't have booked there because we are set on taking pictures before the ceremony. IDK about the cocktail hour but we also didn't ask because we plan on being at our cocktail hour.

I dont think that they won't let you take pictures but maybe they limit you to certain areas?! I asked my BM to put it in contract but he said no since they can't guarentee exactly what areas you will be in that day...I don't know I am getting worried now :/

Yeah, I ran into a similar issue when I was booking because I asked if I could not have my ceremony in the same room as my reception. My BM said he would note my preference but couldn't make any promises. That's a con of getting married at a place where there's more than one wedding at a time: because of logistical issues they cannot make certain guarantees.

Maybe your BM could note somewhere your preferred locations for taking pictures and give him at least 2 options?

My BM told me I can take pictures anywhere I want as long as I come early, if no one is on the premises that is.

Is CH the only place you girls are taking pictures?

Me too - I am debating it because I am not having a ceremony so I do have more time.

Did you guys book a florist? I don't know if I should diy it but if there are reasonable ones then I don't mind spending the money.

i just got married there in oct and had no problems what so ever with taking photos (except for the rain not letting us go outside lol) we had the ceremony there at 630 and we arrived at 230ish and started taking photos right away. my and DH did not want to see eachothe before hand so we werent around for the CH at all, thats when we were taking photos in the ceremony room and our room Plaza Room. but before hand and during no issues, they even did a wonderful job of keeping DH away from me at all times.

maybe that photographer had a past issue with another bride. there are alot of rules at CHCC maybe there was already an issue before.

I booked Flowers by Brian. They were reasonable and worked within my budget.
