Re: CHCC girls

If I remember correctly it is just the cresthollow logo on top and then the menu. I am going to ask my BM if I can pick up a menu and make a new one and then the week before I can get what is actually on the menu and make sure it is accurate

What would you use to make it on your own?

I'm using Flowers by Brian and am happy with them.. but whats up with CHCC changing things now!?

In different news.. are you girls using the seating cards that they provide, and table #s?

To continue the side train...nope. I plan on making seating cards, and we just finished making our table number last weekend! (pics in DIY).

Someone mentioned menus...do they provide menus? I didnt remember that. Does anyone have any pics?

I love your table #s!!!

Oh my gosh I LOVE your table #s! How did you do them?
I believe they do provide a menu.. its just simple.

Awww, thanks! Heres a step by step I posted in a different thread. Theyre pretty easy!

Here goes with a step by step. I'm bad at explaining though so let me know if you need more. The frames are 5x7. I found a good deal on them at AC Moore. Remember it doesnt matter what colors they are because they will be painted. I got the wood numbers at Joanns...that was the only place I could find ones that would be the right size. Before you buy them though take your biggest numbers over to the framing section and hold them up against the glass on some frames just to make sure everything will fit.

1. Take the glass out of the frames, lay them out with the numbers, and spray paint.
2. Glue rhinestones to the numbers: I used 5mm flatback rhinestones and gem tac. Just spread a thin layer of glue around the edge of the number with a toothpick, and use tweezers to set the rhinestones in place.
3. Put glass back in frame. spread a super thin layer of gem tack on the back of the number and glue to glass. Use a cotton swab to remove any excess glue.
4. Cut your backings down to 5x7. I downloads a clipart pack to use on a bunch of my paper items so I printed the backings out, but cute paper from the scrapbooking section at a craft store would work just as well. Insert the paper in the frame behind the glass.

Thats it! Hope that helps!

I'm not using their place cards or table numbers. i'm going to do a seating chart and made my own table numbers.

probably will use their menus - might just glue some rhinestones on them - my BM said we could get them like 2 weeks before teh wedding if we wanted to

I have to talk to my bm about that. I think i would be happy just adding so rhinestones instead of making new ones that people are going to look at for 2 seconds and then hand to there waiter.

I would really love to get a seating chart done. they are soo expensive though. i wonder if like Kinko's would make a poster for me? and then i can frame it myself.

i'm making mine on my own. jessie (futurejoc) found shortrunposters.com where they print 18x24 posters for $2!!!! (plus $10 shipping). kinkos is about $75 i think (if im remembering correctly, don't quote me!)

i'm having about 200 people so im probably going to make two charts so that people dont have to crowd around one.

i bought the frames on super sale at michaels - they were like $49.99 originally, then michaels had their own 40% off frames sale and then i was able to get additional 25% off with a coupon (they're running that deal until saturday, but they run it all the time).

the only thing that's a little stressful is making sure it gets here on time - im going to have to give my final numbers early.

HTH!

Re: CHCC girls

Personally, when I go to weddings, I don't notice the table numbers and menus so I might just use CHCC's. I know some of my guests will take pics of/keep the Placecards because it has their names, so the rhinestone idea sounds like a pretty good and practical idea!

Update on renovations: my BM told me they are renovating a FEW rooms, and the PLAZA room is the first to go--btwn 12/20-12/30 and other rooms (he didn't say which) by Feb/March. Marble floors were already received, and they might change the carpet (they have huge backrolls of the same pattern in stock lol). He also said to stop going to creeper websites (this one?!) but hey, if I didn't go here, I wouldn't have known abt the renovation 'rumors' and I'd be in for a big surprise come wedding day!!

Re: CHCC girls

I talked to my BM and he said my room (Emerald Room) will be getting marble dance floor by end of Feb.

I sooo want the carpet and chairs to be renovated!!!! At this point we plan on getting chair covers.

My only reservation about the CHCC was I don't like the carpet.. but after seeing more venues, I realized that type of carpet is in most places.

I also think adding rhinestones to the seating cards is a nice idea!
