Just curious! For those who are on a budget, is there anything that you and FH decided you could cheap out on?
For us it was the favors and flowers! What about you guys?

Flowers. We shopped around and went with the cheapst prices. They also do great work so that helped too. Also, limos I don't care about. Whoever was the cheapest, we booked with.

Re: Cheaping out?
we're staying cheap on a bunch of things:
-- not doing programs or menus or custom escort cards -- not spending too much on favors (doing a donation of about $2-3 per guest, probably) -- DIY invitations (they come to about $1 each) -- not using a well known photographer (still a professional photographer who does a great job and who has lots of experience, just not one of the 'big' ones)

Awesome job! We are a DB and Mens Wearhouse bridal party too! Gotta love the discount! I also cut out limos! Seriously, my RH is right around the corner from the hotel!

Re: Cheaping out?
we are not doing flower CP's... out CP's were $16 each, and then we bought shells for another $60 maybe... and rose petals. If we did flower CP's for 25 tables, it would have cost us $2k easy!
we also did not go nuts on invitiations and picked reasonably price favors!

Re: Cheaping out?
Well for FH and I, we decided to cheap out on a couple of things. First on the list is my bridal accessories. Instead of getting an expensive headpiece, I'm going to pick a fresh flower from a garden (our wedding is in Miami) and put it in my hair. I'm going to wear just a pair of pearl earrings that I already have, and I'm going to wear the diamond bracelet that FH bought in the middle east for me. Since its on a beach, I'm just getting a pair of wedge flip flop sandals to wear, at about $15 bucks a pair.
Next on our list was to go easy on the plane tickets. We are flying economy/coach down to Miami instead of first class. Now for our HM we are flying first class to Jamaica. The economy tickets to Miami saved us about $500.
I wasn't going to pay a lot of money for my dress either, meaning that I didn't want to pay so much for alterations. I was lucky, I found a dress that fits me PERFECTLY and doesn't need any alterations.
I'm also doing my makeup myself.

we don't have a budget, however we where not going to take out a mortgage to pay for the wedding. i have to be honest & say that we are having everything that we want but we spent the extra time to shop around of the best price

Re: Cheaping out?
I swore I was going cheap on a bunch of things...turns out I didn't cheap out on ANYTHING! Well I guess there is one thing - we're taking the flowers from the church to use in the RH so we didn't have to order a seating card table arrangement. But I guess that was just plain mean since it means we're not donating it to the church!

Re: Cheaping out?
Oh, and instead of me purchasing the $500 beaded sash that I saw in the bridal salon I'm going to make my own sash. I bought pearls, beads, and rhinestones along with ivory organza and I'm making my own!
$500 for a sash? Ummm NO.

Re: Cheaping out?
Flowers. I never really cared much for flowers. Limos werent a big deal to me either. We'll be in them for like 15 mins anyway. All my other vendors I got what I wanted.

Re: Cheaping out?
I am getting a lot of my favors and DOJ from eBay. So far I got a great deal on headpieces and some DOJ for my bridesmaids. FH and I also are not booking a hotel for the night off, nor having any hotel blocks for OOT (we are cutting a lot of distant friends/out of towners from the guest list). BM dresses are coming from David's Bridal $ 99/gown sale. Limo - we may even cut out depending on how our bridal party transportation pans out.
We are also not booking our HM for right after the wedding (and only for 5-7 days). FH was married before so a lot of these things are just not important to him (heck the whole wedding isn't that important to him! )
