CHEATING....OOOOOH!

It's the question no one likes to answer or confront....

Have you cheated on your FI or had him cheat on you????

Just curious as to how many folks end up together after going through this....

No. We did break up for 2 weeks when we had been together 2 years, but neither of us dated or did anything with anyone else at that time. We dated another 2 years and got married!

ETA: I cheated on my BF before DH.

I wouldn't call it a cheat but FI and I were very good friends for years before we hooked up and we were dating other people in the beginning. But when I broke up with my ex and he broke up with his ex we started hanging out more and got 'Involved' but because his ex couldn't let go and my ex was his good friend (who was fine in the beginning with us getting together) An after a few months realized he was not okay with the situation ...things got sticky trying to keep the peace between them and ex was telling FI we got back and we didn't but we were still talking ( as friends). My ex and FI had a huge fight and things got bad... I stepped back from both of them for about 8 months and always knew I would get back with FI when things were better. But he did hang out with his ex during this time for a bit...And now we are engaged and my ex is in the BP.

No I have not cheated on my FI nor has he cheated on me. Growing up in a family where my father cheated on my mother, cheating is a deal breaker for me and he knows that, but I know plenty of people who have cheated and been cheated on and they stay together. It's a personal choice.

I have never cheated on any SO. DH knows it is the one thign I cannot tolerate and I cannot forgive.

No, but I did cheat on my ex-boyfriend and it was never the same. I think it's that old saying if you never can forget, can you ever really forgive.

FH and I have quite a history, but I won't bore you with the details.

I don't hold his actions as cheating, but in the first year we were together, FH left me on two separate occasions to move back in with his wife and stepson. Although he loved me tremendously (in this I have no doubt), his then-wife, who abused him both physically and verbally, used extreme emotional blackmail to fill him with a consuming guilt. This was such a difficult time for us, but our love prevailed and here we are today.

I honestly believe that infidelity will ever be an issue in our future.

I did tell FI once that if he ever cheat on me in the future, I will take the kids (when we have some), the house, our money and everything from him!

no. I've been cheated on by boyfriends in the past and it was such a betrayal. I have no worries about FH and I regarding that.

Hope no one thinks less of me BUT.....I did cheat on the FI - in the very beginning of our relatioinship I was still seeing my ex - actually I saw a lot of my ex while with the FI and now the ex is getting married to a girl that looks like me and has the same name.

Yup. It was during the first year of our relationship. I didn't sleep with anybody. Did something else, but it was still cheating. I was so consumed with guilt that I told him. He still brings it up to this day, but it has made me realize what a mistake I made and how I will never do it again. I was so bad.

I was cheated on by an ex and tried to salvage the relationship, but I just could never trust him again. Plus he was doing drugs and I was trying to help him stop, but that didn't work.

My FI was cheated on by his ex-wife and that's why he divorced her (out of the house in 2 weeks, that's my man!). Unfortunately he had to leave his daughter and now he only sees her on the weekends. I watch as it breaks his heart every Sunday when we drop her off.

Both knowing the pain I can positively say that I have never and will never cheat on my wonderful FH, and I know I can say the same for him.

There's 2 types of people in this world who've been cheated on, those that want revenge and turn around to do it to someone else and those that could never hurt someone like that and would never ever put another human being through it. We're both the latter!!!!

No way, never. I was cheated on by my ex and I am convinced I could never work through it. I would always be checking phone records, emails etc. I would never be able to trust that person again.
