Can I deposit that in my account even tho the name is different?
I think you can definitely depost into his account since he is Mr XXX but i don't think you can put it on yours until your name is changed unless it's a joint account
I would assume they would have to go into HIS account, b/c the last name is the same. You didn't specify if he was on YOUR account, if so, I would assume they'd take them. Why would someone write you a check with ur married names on them? Weird!

I dont know if its diff here bc im in NC or is it a banking rule...but my acct was under Alexs name too...and we tried to deposit not even cash it and they said no bc I didnt change my name on my acct! Made no sense!!! So all our gifts sat here until we got our marriage cert....god was that annoying!!!

we had the same q. when we had to deposit all the checks from our wedding. they told me that as long as DH was listed on the account..(which he was) it was fine.
our account was : Melissa Smith and Peter Doe, and chks made out to Mr. & Mrs. Doe were fine .
