What do you girls think of this? One of my cousins is getting married and from the maid of honor I got a 'Secret Super Bowl Sunday: For the Soon-to-Be-Newlyweds..' game sheet. Basically, she is asking everyone to participate by picking teams to win and the entry fee is $20... $10 goes for the couple, $10 for the honeymoon BUT there is a special rules section and the last rule is:
If we still do not have a winner at this point, then we assume that all players threw the game intentionally in order for all of the proceeds to be given to xxx and xxx ... hence the entire prize pot will then go to them (This WILL NOT happen .. we have faith in you)...
First of all, they didn't even send it to my current address and there was a cut-off date which I missed... Secondly, I'm not crazy about the idea - besides the shower they want everyone to contribute towards their honeymoon?! I think it's a bit much.. JMO.. what do you all think?

Re: Cheesy or Not?
Not quite sure what they are getting at, looks like the couple gets all the $ one way or another. That's all fine and good, but if you do this and expect people to buy gits for the shower, wedding, etc., you are really tapping people out, and that is cheesy!

Re: Cheesy or Not?
tacky
if no shower was being done for whatever reason, then it's cute and (to me) acceptable. However, I'm not big on asking guests to do all these cutesy things that are over and above a shower gift and wishing well.
