Children at Bridal Shower???

I agree with no children I will be having one but she is 12 going on 25

i dont know, i feel differently about the shower. I think kids at the shower is ok. For the wedding i dont think it is. But a shower is usually on a sunday in the afternoon. I dont see why a kid cant be there, and ive always seen kids at showers. If you make it a lingerie shower then maybe but otherwise its fine. I told my MOH and mom that people can bring their kids if they want. I know there will be a few kids at mine. Well my FG, maybe my RB not sure if the mother is bringing him. ALso one of fh's cousin said she might bring her daughter. Other than that not sure who else might bring kids. I think this might be the one wedding event that kids are appropriate. Again just my opinion.

Also i dont see that much lingerie given at showers, unless theres a theme around it. Most get gifts off the registry and ive seen people get very few gifts with lingerie

I totally agree. I always see children at showers and I'm pretty sure I will have some at mine. It's a personal preference though...

the only children invited aremy sisters kids ..my rb and my fg

yeah i am actually surprised when i read this thread, didnt know. It is a preference but just surprised because i always saw kids at a shower. But everyone should do what makes them happy

Well that is a different circumstance, If 20 is the max, then my opinion would be different. If Debi really wants this person to come, maybe she could find somebody in PA to babysit. I'm not saying it is Debi's responsibility, but it may make the mother of three feel like she is really wanted there and the children would be welcome too if there was enough room.

ETS: Or at least she could just say it that way...lol! Nicer then just saying I don't want the kids there.

yeah i guess childrens behavior does count. Its funny because when my MOH said something about FG coming and maybe fh's cousins kid i told her 'oh dont worry they are such well behaved kids' and omg they seriously are but yeah it does cross your mind or else i wouldnt have said that. My fg is such a sweet kid and so well behaved. She just sits and talks to people and doesnt run around. She listens to what you tell her. She has so much personality too. And fh's cousins kid has to be the friendliest kid ever. We had a bday party at a catering hall for fh's grandmothers 93rd birthday. When she left she went up to all 80-90 guests and said goodnight to everybody and hugged them and gave them a kiss goodbye, it was the sweetest thing and during the whole party she was so behaved. So maybe thats why i dont mind

ive seen kids at a shower and ive been to ones with no kids....never seen it get 'raunchy' lol i need to go to better showers!

I guess it's all about preference. When I was a kid I was always invited to the shower regardless if i was invited to the wedding or not. One time I wasn't and I was insulted at the time then years later I found out the bp hired a stripper and my mom was given the heads up That is the only shower thought that went like that, I guess it all depends on who is throwing it, lol.

Isn't it the Bachlorette party thats supposed to get raunchy? The Shower is all the relatives, old aunts and grandmas and a few close friends. My cousins are on the list to be invites (8 and up) and my niece who is 5.

awww poor little guys, lol. I think it's cute when they get so excited. I remember when I went to my aunt's shower when I was a jr bm and we did that, lol. Maybe my aunt didn't find it so cute
