China or No China

Re: China or No China
hey Krystal, I dont know if you saw it, but there's a whole thread about this on the BHB board if you want some more answers. To answer your question, I am definitely registering for China. I think its just something you get when you get married and I am traditional like that. Plus, I want to one day host holidays and I would like to have fine china to serve with. Someone that responded to that thread said its 'like a rite of passage' and that's kinda how I feel about it. If you don't feel like you need it, you def don't have to register for it since I know its not something that is used very often, so I can see how it is a waste also. HTH

I am definitely registering for china. FH and I may not use it immediately when we get married but we definitely will in the future when we eventually host holidays.
Re: China or No China
Very informative stuff ladies. Thank you. I am going to have to check out that thread about it. I am not going to lie - I normally never venture out of the '2011 Brides' chat area. LOL. But maybe I should re-evaluate. China really is beautiful... I just hope to actually use it!!! Sweeeeet!
Re: China or No China
I had posted my repsonse on the BHB thread, but we are not planning on registering for China. In our family there really is no use for it (our family gatherings are traditionally held at other people's house and they usually involve so many people that we just use festive paper plates because no one wants to do all the dishes lol).

My grandma has a really nice china set that she will prob hand down to me...and i don't think FH and I would use a china set for quite awhile...but it may be nice to have a set for those special ocasions...and it's a traditional wedding gift. I'd say either way it's up to you and if you are going to want to have it or not.

Re: China or No China
I will not be registering for China. I always thought I would then I realized how expensive each set is, and my mom has her mothers and will prob give that to me when I buy a house. I will prob be moving at least twice before I move into a house I own. I would be afraid to have my fine china break while moving! I will be registering for everyday stuff, specifically fiesta ware in the deep blue color and peacock blue.
