im not a huge fan of china - its nice but i know that for occasions where we typically would use china (holidays and such) there usually arent enough place settings b/c there are always more than 12 adults...we didnt register for any - so i would say return it and get more stuff! you will probably use the other things more than you would use the china (at least for me that is what would happen)

Heres another option...

Return it and get a complete China set for like 200 bucks.. if you really love your china I say keep it and go to the outlets and buy it slowly...

I got some gift cards but probably not even enough to cover one place setting. I feel like its useless b/c I'd have to buy at LEAST 5 more settings to even begin to use them for a holiday. Whats the point? And where in the hell do I store them?

Some family might get you china as your wedding gift - I would hold onto it for now and see where you are after the wedding. . .

people don't give gifts in my family, usually just money, but china is a little different. my sister received the remainder of her china as a gift from an aunt on her DHs side.

We had some 'no's' send us place settings as a gift. Also, people will get you place settings for your first anniversary. We didn't receive all 12 settings either, but Macy's has had amazing home sales since March and I've bought a couple more sets at 20% off. I'm only donw 2 more sets now, but I've been adding slowly. If you do want them (I really wanted mine) then keep them, you'll get more here and there.

What I'll be saving for now is the serving pieces, I didn't receive any of those yet but I'm not giving up.

Id wait until after the wedding to make a decision...the the previous poster said,,she got some for the wedding...if you don't get anymore for the wedding..then return them....

we have ours stored next to the vaccuum but plan to use them whenever we have ANY company over (thats not like a BBQ or pizza)

i say save them. I was just at the Lenox outlet yesterday and they have your setting there so its at least a little cheaper

I'd keep it and buy yourself the set over time. It seems like you really like to cook so you'll probably get some use out of it during the holidays. Also, if you have any out of town guests coming, some of them might buy you more of your settings.

i would return it...i didnt register for china...the way i see it, it is going to sit around for the majority of the year and get dusty and dirty, then you are going to have to clean them before you use them, then most arent dishwasher safe, so you have to hand washt hem after you use them too...waaaaay too much work for me lol, i got just plain white everyday dishes with a little swirly design on them to make them alittle fancier, and im going to use them as everyday dishes and for holidays and just decorate the table with cute tablecloths and napkins

Plus like you said, where are you going to store them? and they are a lot of money...JMO

You chose the pattern for a reason - I'd keep the 3 and complete it eventually - you may receive more place settings as wedding gifts.

Sometimes family members buy place settings for Christmas and birthdays and such.

Your china is beautiful I saw it at Macy's in Smithhaven mall when FH and I went to register and reconized it immediately.

If you don't think you'll be using it anytime soon and it's just going to be in storage return it and get things you'll need or use more immediately. If you really love it then just wait...some people that can't make your wedding may send you gifts off your registry...which may include some of your China pieces.

I love you China Set, it's so pretty.

It depends on how important the China is to you. If you don't think you'll use it, I would return it, but if you like to entertain and really wanted a nice China set and know that you will use it, I would keep it . Maybe buy a place setting ever other month or when you could afford it and eventually you can have your complete set.
