How many o you registered for China and how many registered for 'nicer' everyday dinnerware? i can't decide if I want china or something I would use everyday....

We only registered for china- that is because we have lived together for a few years and already have everyday dishes. Put both on your registry. You never know what people will purchase for you.

ok...here's another question for you gals...how do you know what color? I have NO IDEA what color I will paint my kitchen will be once I buy a house...it depends on the kitchen. This seems so hard...how do you buy for a room you don't have yet?

we registered for both. We were wavering on the fine china but fell in love with Lenox Venetian Lace (pix in my album) so we registered for it and have used it a few times already since our e-party. It's a waste if you dont use it!
We also registered for everyday dinnerware but i wouldn't call it 'fine' (i've seen some expensive everyday sets or inexpensive china sets). I always wanted a set of modern sold white dishes like you see at trendy bistros, so we mixed and matched bw BBB, Macy's and Crate & Barrel -- none of the pieces were particularly pricey. We also added on a few accent plates in taupe and slate blue to mix and match with them.
FH and I live together and had a mish mosh of dishes... basically the random stuff we accumulated in college. 2 of this, 4 of that, 4 of this -- it will be nice to have a matching set.

As of now, I am registered for both but I think I'm going to remove our China. Since we are in the process of buying a house, I'd rather people buy us things that we need for everyday use. Plus, I'd be annoyed if I only got a couple of placesettings of China.

I registered for both. For my china, I got Lenox Venitian Lace. For my everyday plates, I got square everyday white plates from BBB. I like the solid white, very modern looking and can go with a lot.

I love to entertain so the idea of the fine china makes me happy. I didn't register foro very expensive fine china though. I wanted to make sure I got the whole set (which i did) so mine was under $100 per setting....I love my every day dishes. It is hard to do a color when you don't know what your kitchen will look like. How bout a neutral color???

We did both. We didn't go outrageous with the china b/c honestly how often will I pull it out? Our everyday set was a mix of white plates and accent plates with a paisley motif...I know what colors I like and bought with that in mind but I don't think you should worry about what color your room is going the plates..I don't think anyone will notice

We registered for both. We've lived together for 3 years, but we're ready for some new everyday dished. And we really wanted to have some nice fine China that will be used for special occassions.

i registered for both and didnt get neither- i think many of our guests assumed we had nice stuff being that we lived with eachother for sometime the truth is we didn't I wasn't going to invest in all that before we got married- no biggie though we are going to buy it when we move into a house
