I've tried calling them 3 times. I left messages for Christine and she doesn't get back to me. I called a few minutes ago and some man picked up who was really rude!!! I wanted to use them for a cake for my FH..but if they are like that..forget it! Sheesh! Does anyone know how far in advance you need to notify them for a cake? I wanted to get my DH a cake made in the shape of a police shield..but am not sure how much time is needed for order and am wondering now if I should bother with them...

I am SO sorry you had this experience!
Chrissy is not always in and yes, the guy can sound UBER rude, but really he totally isn't.
Did you call 3 times today or just over time? If she isn't in yet then that may be why you haven't heard back.
I'm sure at least two weeks in advance, if not less, would be ok.
Again, sorry, I love the Duck so much and would hate to hear that someone had a bad experience with them.

I've tried 3 different times...not today. He told me she'd be back on Wednesday and it's best to call her in the afternoon. I'll try calling again..but I guess he made me feel like I was a nuisance. I left a message about 1 month ago (no lie) and he says 'oh yeah she's been on vacation for a week'...Ummm.. I didn't even bother telling him when I called last. My thing is ...I'm coming from the Bronx for this ....and I've gotten nothing but GREAT recommendations from here and the Knot...so he should be a little nicer...shoo! I'll try one more time....wish me luck.

Chrissy is one of my friends, she's away for the week. I believe she'll be back on Saturday July 1st, however I would give her until July 5th. Don't give up on her, her cakes are awesome. The carrot cake is my absolute favorite. You have plenty of time to order, so don't worry about that. Best of luck, Amy

Why dont you just call Dortoni Bakery. People love them and they are in Levittown which is really close to Farmingdale. I hear their cakes are out of this world and very very creative. Do a search on here. This is their website.
