Chocolate or Vanilla wedding cake?

Ok, we've already decided that we want chocolate wedding cake, but I was just curious to see what other people are having....if you are having something other than chocolate or vanilla, then put other and post what you are having....

I voted not sure yet on the poll, but I was concidering canoli filling, which would definatly call for a vanilla cake.

I'm really pushing for carrot cake for my wedding because it's my absolute favorite....but my mom keeps telling me that not everybody eats it!!!!!
If I had to choose between vanilla and chocolate...I'd choose them both!!

Your mom brings up a good point. Carrot cake is not a common kind of cake and not everyone will like it. (I LOVE IT THO )

I know, she makes a good point...I hate it when that happens!!!!

I made a deal with FH.... he can pick the type of cake and fillings but I get to pick what it looks like. I am not really a cake person so it doesn't really appeal to me.

I LOVE chocolate so I always wanted a chocolate wedding cake but I am having a chocolate fountain, 3 actually, and the candy buffet, lot's of chocolate there so I thought it might be chocolate over kill. So anyway, now I'm thinking I may do a carrot cake...I'm having a fall theme so I just thought it fit...

i dont really like chocolate cake but we went to a wedding this weekend that had the best cake i have ever had in my life - it was like a little slice of heaven!
it was this rich, almost fudge like cake with the most delicious buttercream frosting! YUMMMM

I love carrot cake, but there are logistical concerns with it... that fab creamcheese icing may not fair well in the summer....

so, we're having a fondant cake with chocolate cake and mocha filling....

I have a yellow cake with canoli cream and chocolate mousse filling and a buttercream frosting. I love sweet stuff and I get both flavors.

Did you talk to your baker? B/c ours has the cream cheese icing, but it's under the fondant. Every layer has it's own icing under the fondant. And the cream cheese would be fine in the summer, it's not like it will be sitting outside under the sun.
