Choosing a church?
I feel like I'm going to hell for 'shopping' for a church lol, but since FH (catholic) is from OOT and I am not catholic, we do not belong to a catholic church on LI so we have to pick one.
Based on the look alone (not considering priest, rules, etc) which would be more important to you- the inside of the church or outside/location?
Church A: (St. Isidore's in Riverhead)
- 5 minutes away from hotels and RH
- GORGEOUS inside, I like the inside more than Ostrabrama- marble alter, etc.
- sort of a sketchy street/area
Church B: (Our Lady of Ostrabrama in Cutchogue)
- a little further away from RH (15-20 min)
- Beautiful location, vineyards across street, nice street, gazebo, pretty grounds
- Inside is nice, pretty stained glass windows, but not as in love with the inside as much as St. Isidore's... it has red carpeting which is turning me off a bit.
Since we do not belong to a church on LI we are picking it pretty much on appearance as bad as that is.... but on the other hand we don't want to meet with both priests and be like, 'um, we liked this church better... but thanks for your time!' LOL
FH likes Ostrabrama more because he likes the location much better. I am leaning toward St. Isidore's because the inside is breathtaking. We can't decide, but need to very soon (St. Isidore's was getting a new priest so we have been put on 'hold' for the paperwork, and in the meantime discovered Ostrabrama) but the new priest is probably calling us in a few days!
