Thank you:) Leonard's in Great Neck Villa Lombardi's Bridgeview Yacht Club Woodbury Country Club Thatched Cottage East Wind Caterers Jericho Terrace West Lake Inn Terrace On The Park Sand Castle Caterers Ariana Waterfall Beach Club Estate Flower Field Majestic Gardens Sands Lido Beach Stuart Thomas Manor Windows On The Lake I am sorry, I am totally new to this site. I signed up a long time ago, but never really had the chance to sit and talk to people, so I am sorry if I am a bother. Thanks for everyone's help

Re: Choosing a reception hall
I'm familiar with some of the places. Many of them are expensive (ie Flowerfields will be a min of $150 per person). It really depends on the month and day your wedding - Friday, Sat, Sunday. . . Villa Lombardis and Jericho Terrace are also expensive. Thatched Cottage and East Winds are both reasonable (less than $100). I called places before going and asked their price range, give it a shot! Good Luck!

Re: Choosing a reception hall
No offense to any bride who's had a wedding there but please STAY AWAY from Ariana... that place is in the middle of Hempstead and all it is is a diner!
I'll be honest hun, unless you plan on doing something either inthe afternoon or totally off peak, I don't think that you will be able to get it for that cheap..

hey cathy im new too!. i would suggest posting this same message on the vendors helping brides section as well. see what feedback you get there.
im getting married in hawaii but my best friend is having her recption at the sandcastle. its beautiful there. but i dont know there range. there is a magazine you can find at borders or barnes and nobles. it lists price ranges and sites on long island. i forget the name of it. some one there should be able to find it for you.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
If you are looking for a reception hall for $50-$60 per person, alot of the halls on your list do not have packages in that price range. I would look into the Manor East. They have different packages in your price range. Here is their website: www.manoreast.com.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
Flowerfield is a bit over your budget, but West Lake Inn, which is run by the same company and has the same outstanding food, isn't. I would say that 's a great place to start looking. I have also been to beautiful weddings at East Wind and Majestic Gardens, and know for a fact they can accommodate your price range. I'm not familiar with the other sites' pricing. Good luck to you!

Re: Choosing a reception hall
Leonard's may be in our price range, especially in April. You should check it out. Jericho Terrace, Woodbury Country Club, Sand Castle, Villa Lombardi - I don't think these are in the $50-$60 range at any time of year.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
I would also try Brentwood Country Club, It is very nice, and they have GREAT package deals. I am getting married at Majestic Gardens on a Sunday and paying $97.00 pp.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
With most of the halls mentioned above, you would have to add taxes and gratuity. I know for a fact the following halls would not be in that price range
Chateau Briand Jerrico Terrace Leonards Woodbury Country Club Terrace of the Park Sand Castle
You may be lucky with a off season wedding (winter), but definitely not late spring or summer.
You could check Coral House.

We booked Bridgeview, but it might be out of your budget. There may be a different menu selection available. The setting is beautiful, and Kathy & Scott are great.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
I got married at the Sand Castle (I got lucky and paid $91pp for a Sat night in Oct, when the going rate there was $130pp), but unless you get married in Jan/Feb/Mar, I don't think it'll fit in the 50-60 range. I also know for a fact that Villa Lombardi and Jericho Terrace don't fit in that range either and I'm sorry, but I think most of the ones on your list won't either. I know the Swan Club fits that range and I believe so does the Watermill. (I can't remember if that was on your list).
But you should still check them out because sometimes they have cancellations, etc, and you might get lucky!! Good luck!

Re: Choosing a reception hall
Check out Stewart Manor Country Club-- definitely close to that price range. I know that people say nasty things about Arianna but my sisters friend just had a wedding there and supposedly everything was top notch on the inside. You may also want to look at Douglaston Manor.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
I would also say to consider a Sunday afternoon wedding or possibly Friday night. Your budget is a bit low for some of those places on a Sat. night. Also consider Nov-Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April. I saved a bit getting married the 1st weekend in November. Flowerfield is well over $150 pp, plus they have a huge guest requirement.

Re: Choosing a reception hall
I'm getting married at Leonard's and I am paying more than that price range. I guess if you cut back on ALOT of options than I could see it being in that range (very limited cocktail hour, non top shelf liquor and no viennese hour) but it would be hard and you need your negotiating hat on. The reason their prices have increased is b/c they just re-did the place. It is very beautiful and worth checking out. I DO NOT think you could get that price but you never know

Re: Choosing a reception hall
We're having our reception at Floral Terrace (the people who own Floral Terrace own Sand Castle) on a Sunday night in May and we're paying over $100 (Bearsbabe: YOU GOT LUCKY!!!-How did you do it?). I went to Jericho Terrace and they were about the same for a Sunday night in April (it would've been more for May); Leonards was about $80 (for the basic menu, no add-ons) for a Sunday night in April, May or June and the Swan Club was about the same as Leonards These prices include tax and service charge.
Hope this helps!

Re: Choosing a reception hall
Well thank you SO much everybody. I guess I have a LOT of research to do. Most places though, will not tell me their prices unless I go there. It's a waste of my time, but I guess thats what I have to do. I am so totally in love with Villa Lombardi's and I have a 7:00 appointment tonight to meet with them. Hopefully it wont be so bad. Its for a Friday night, shouldnt be too bad, and if March is much cheaper than April, I can be flexible:) Thanks again EVERYONE!!
