Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

Hey all,

I'm trying to choose between these two venues. Any thoughts??? I need some help, as they both have different 'feels' and different pros and cons.

Also, if you know of any venues in that general price range ($75-$80 per person) that have pretty outdoor space, please let me know.

Thanks so much!!

Re: Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

I responded to you on the 2011 board-

In that range and with a nice outdoor space you might also want to look into:

Westbury Manor
CrestHollow Country Club
Woodbury Country Club
Chateau Briand (they have the outdoor oasis which is kind of like a miami feel).

Re: Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

My sister got married at Douglaston Manor and it was fantastic. I would've gotten married there myself, but didn't want to be a copycat But seriously, it was one of the best weddings I ever went to and I've been to a lot of weddings. They got some amazing pics on the grounds too.

Re: Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

I'm a DM bride getting married there in November. I loved the feel of the venue, a little different than your typical wedding hall.

The grounds are beautiful and they definitely were able to give us the most for our money!

Re: Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

I loved Douglaston Manor but felt it was out of my price range. The Riviera in Massapequa has a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour area, lots of photo opportunities and kinda reminded me of DM. However, I recently went to a wedding at the Swan Club and everything was great...so I don't think you can go wrong.

Re: Choosing between Douglaston Manor and Swan Club

I love the gardens at the SC. You should take a look at Westbury Manor they have a nice outdoor space and a totally different feel then SC and DM. I am biased though b/c WM did an amazing job with my reception.
