How many of you are going to be at your CH hour? I dont know if i want to attend my CH hour cause i like he idea of the grand entrance into the reception ...i need some positive and negatives

We were adamant before the wedding that we wanted to attend our CH. We even made if very clear with our photographer that we wanted to be done with pics, to ensure we were at the CH.
Well, come the day of the wedding, it was drizzling outside and couldn't take pics outside at the hall, so we proceeded to take all pics inside. Then as we were preparing to head to CH, it stopped drizzling. We agreed getting pics outside would mean a lot more to us than some time in the CH.
As it turned out, after our pics, we 'ran' thru the CH for about 15 min, went upt o bridal suite for about 15 min, then it was time to head into the reception.
Almost glad we didn't attend the entire CH, because the 15 min we were in there people wanted to stop us for full blown conversations and my dad was hollaring at me from across the room to ask me something about the food!![]()

I went to mine...about 45 minutes of it at least. It was the best idea.. we said hello to a lot of the guests and didn't have to make rounds during the reception to do that.

I didn't go to my CH. I felt like I had to be the traditional bride and didn't want anyone to see me until our grand slammin entrance! Now I wish i did, so I could have said Hello to everyone and not had to 'waste' time at the reception by doing it, because it took up alot of time, and I didn't get to dance as much as I wanted to and the Reception and the time jut flew by!

I was really thinking about not going to the CH...but after reading this. I am thinking why not? You can still have the entrance and have plenty of time to enjoy your wedding.

I definately want to be at the cocktail hour!! I don't want to miss any part of my wedding, which is why we have 4 hours in between the church and cocktail hour to take photos!!

I loved being at ours...you can really go around and talk to everyone and spend time with people! You also want to be able to experience EVERY MOMENT!

I didn't want to be there. I wanted to spend some alone time with my new husband & enjoy some of my coctail hour food with him alone. I was being pulled in 100 different directions the whole reception so i loved having this relaxing time alone with him... I also didn't want to see him before, so we took some pics for part of it.

I've been thinking about this A LOT!! Most of the weddings i've been to have been very traditional and i've never seen a bride and groom at the CH (I'm Indian so it tends to be even more traditional) However i'd love to mingle with guests during CH...but how do you enter? I don't know if that's a weird question or not but do you have a big 'entrance' to the CH? we'll be taking pics after ceremony so will only be there for maybe the second half of the CH...

We are not going to be at ours. Will be taking pics and relaxing before our big entrance. And we will have our own CH in the bridal suit.

I'm going to go to mine.. that way I have more time to enjoy the night with talking to guests at CH and less to talk to at the reception

If I can I will go to the CH. We're taking pictures in between, so hopefully the photographer will be fast enough that we won't miss it.

We were at our cocktail hour- but stayed in the bridal suite for a good part of it when we weren't taking photos- we went out more to mingle here and there and then we did a grand entrance also. Best of both worlds!

We plan to go. We have a 3 hour break btwn church and CH so we'll take our pics then.
We want to know how the food is and hear our jazz trio:))) In otherwise, see our hard earned $$$ at work. Hahah
