Chubby Bride

Re: Chubby Bride

I am a 'plus' bride. I got my dress at Adrienne's in Islip. They were the ONLY place that I went to where I could actually try the dresses on that they actually fit and I could see what they REALLY looked like!

I got my gown from Valentina's in Brooklyn.

Any bridal store is what you make of it....I found my dress at David's and i ended up in a strapless, which I didn't originally want, but it looked perfect on me. I am not doing alterations there...too many horror stories, but I am happy with the service I received there outside of the fact that I was not called to be told that my BM dresses had come in.

I was a Definately-not-a-size-2 bride, and I found my gown at Fantasia Bridal Center in Rocky point...

Bridal Suite in Centereach! ask for Amy she was great they had quite a few styles for me to try on. You can also look at alfred angelo.com or Emme bridal online and get a dress idea you like. they might even order the sample for you. they did that with my bridesmaids dress!

The only bad stuff I've ever heard of was about the store in Brooklyn. I went to David's in Freehold, NJ and had a wonderful experience with them. I know of a couple of brides who went to Carle Place and also had no problems. It's worth checking out. Our choices can be a little bit limited sometimes. And their dresses are gorgeous and not all are strapless. This is mine, if you are interested.

Dress

Good luck.
