I wanted to DIY my chuppah decorations. I tried making some paper pom-poms (a Martha Stewart idea) but I wasn't crazy about them. I wanted to do something colorful and whimsical but nothing too cheap looking. Any ideas?

Re: chuppah decorations - not flowers
i read a review on here once where the bride had tulle/crystal bo-k's instead of flowers, maybe something like that?

i would stick with flowers or tulle/colored fabric to decorate the chuppah with it is a symbolic part of the wedding, not a decorative photo opportunity imo

I don't see why flowers won't take away from the symbolism but making my own decorations will? The chuppah symbolizes making a home together, I think making something to decorate it makes it more special. I'm not being flippant about it.

not exactly DIY but maybe you could put paper lanterns up?
ETA: or maybe wrap it in some sort of string-lights (not xmas lights though )
