Gotta just keep calling Churches, there is bound to be one out there that will marry you guys!
Church
If you keep calling with no luck, I am pretty sure they might try to get you to start the annulment process... for my church the Priest asked us about 8247834834 times if we had ever been married before. He even said 'even Vegas, anywhere, it all counts.'

I just finished pre-cana and they kept focusing on having an annulment if you have been married before. I'm not sure how lenient any church will be on that. But I would keep calling around. My church asked FH and I a bazillion times if we have been married before and pretty much said if it turns out one of us has been married, they will not marry us. Good luck!
Church
Have any of the churches you've called given you any guidance on what to do, or are they just flat-out telling you no without getting any other information? I would find out from the next church what you need to do in order to be able to get married there!

It is my understanding that you cannot get married in a Catholic Church unless you have gotten an annulment.

What about non-catholic churches? Some are much more flexible

I believe that you have to contact the Diocese of Rockville Center because that is the 'head' Catholic Church on Long Island. They are the ones that process an annulment. Then you can contact your local church and they should not deny you after that.

I don't think you can get married in a church if you didn't have an annulment first. However, an annulment can take over a year (my cousin's took a year and a half) so you might not be able to get married in a church by your wedding date
Church
Ya they said I have to get an annulment.. But it is over $1,000 for one who has the money while planning a wedding
Church
Yes and I think its a big process. Someone I know who went through one had to get letters written explaining why the marriage never existed in her eyes, approval from her ex, etc. It definitely takes time.
Church
Since it does take a lot of time and you might not be able to obtain it in time, you could always get married at the venue (or in a non-Catholic church) and maybe see about getting it officially done in a Catholic church when everything finally does come through?

My FH's mother had her second wedding in a catholic church. They were from a very small town upstate so she was friendly with the priests there, but they let them have the wedding so long as they didn't stand on the alter. That was the compromise. Im not sure if this will work at other places, but don't give up if that's what you really want!
