Church and Music

I am getting married at OLG but all brides can answer this.

What is the stand on music in the church. Are you allowed to have someone come in separately or do you have to use the church organist?

I want to walk down the aisle to Kenny Gs wedding song and felt that it would be awesome to have a live musician do it...

or can i play the cd?? like will churchs allow you to do this? i have no idea

I think its different with all churches., Im sure if you tell them you want to use a musician, they will let you., if not., maybe they can play the song if you give them the music.? (sheet music in notes)

it depends on the church.
a lot, if not most, Catholic churches do not allow 'popular' music to be played during a wedding.
You have to stick to classics preapproved by your Parish.

Most churches let you bring in a live musician, a lot will still charge you to use their musicians whether you do or not because they have contracted them for all parish events.

talk to your Church before making any definite plans. I'd hate to see you get disapointed.

i know you can have outside musicians but i am not sure about the non religious music part- he is fun to talk to so you should call! lol

and the donation includes the 'musician fee' so even if you dont use them the fee will be the same.
