So I THOUGHT I found a church that my sister was attending. FH and I attended a few services and then I inquired about their weddings!!!
This is the Non-member fee- $2175!!!!!
Breakdown is as follows!!!!
Premarital Counseling- $50 Santuary Rental-$ 500 (Free of members) Officiating Clergy-$ 200 Wedding Adminstrator-$ 75 (the point of contact person) Ceremony Consultant-$150 (basically the person who organizes ur ceremony)
Operational Staff- $150 ( I don't even know who this person is) Minister of Music-$200 (even if u do not want music u still have to see this guy)
Organist/Pianist-$150 (optional)
Audio Ministry-$ 200 (optional- person to play cd's turn on mics and what not- my cousins can do this... even Tyler(my 7 yr old nephew can turn on a cd player!!!!-)
Refundable Deposit- $500 if u are time
So in the end as a non-member I would be paying $1675
As a member you would wind up paying $675!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAN YOU SAY THIS IS FRICKING HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!!! We're getting married at my church and it's costing $750! I thought that was a lot......but over $2100!?!?!
And you know what really pi$$es me off is the fact that if you are catholic, this is a 'sacrament'. So you're just doing what the church tells you to do and yet you still have to pay them....oh don't get me started on them!!!!

I'm with you Cee. Our church calls it an 'offering' if you will(well father told us the offering to get married is 350.00).Basicly we're donating 350.00 to get married!!! And thats without the cost of Pre-cana!!!!! What ever happened to just getting married, for the sacrament and meaning of it all. Now a days it's all about the money. I don't care what anybody says

Wow, that is a lot . I thought what I was paying was a lot $600 for the church and then $175 for pre-cana. Damn fees. Oh well...its what ya gotta do...

That is really crazy!! I just went to my parish and they want $550. I don't know if it is extra for pre-cana or not? Yet another q to ask!
