As far as I know, all you need is a letter from your church granting you permission.... easier said then done right????? Good Luck

I wasn't aware that you had to get a letter... you should tell them you have lots of elderly pepole coming and they wouldn't be able to sit through the heat. They should understand

The church I wanted to get married in would not marry us because we did not belong to there church.

This happened to me as well. I could NOT wait to leave. People were constantly wiping their sweat off and fanning themselves the whole. You really couldn't enjoy the ceremony, it was really bad!

I just had to deal with that... my church was booked for my date and time... so I got a letter from the priest and brought it to the new church... so far so good...

i dont think you will have a problem going to another church - they just might charge you a little more money since you dont 'belong' to that parish

Yes actually I had a friend with a similar situation and it basically depends of the church itself. But just a word of advise, when you go there, dont tell them the real reason for not wanting to get married at your parish. Try and come up with a lttle whit lie. I know this may sound bad me telling you to lie to a priest, but it worked my friend. She had told the priest from outside her parish that she had a close love one pass away there and did not wish to relive those memories.
