i booked the RH first, but i did not tell the church this since they usually frown upon this.

We booked RH first, then the church the next day.

We went to the church first to see what dates they had available, but then focused most of our attention on the RH. Once we finalized that, we called the church and put a hold on our date.

I put a hold on the RH then I called the church that night to make sure the day was open then I called the hall back the next day to book.

We booked the church & now we are looking at reception halls!! hopefully we will make a decision soon!

We booked the church first. All of the halls I liked had all of my dates open so there were no worries.

We went looking at RH's first... we asked th Coral House to hold the 16th till we hear back from the church if they had the 16th open also... so we booked them at pretty much the same time.

You're supposed to book the church first. I know a girl who was turned away from her church because she told them she already booked the RH and they were not pleased. That being said, I went to look at RH first, found a date I wanted. I went to the church and said I wanted that specific day and once it was booked I called the RH back and sent my deposit.

Either way, if you book you RH first, don't tell you Church that you are already booked. They get a little insulted by the fact that you think your RH is more important. So if you do book your RH first, play dumb at the Church.

we 'booked' the church first but asked for the weekend before and after's openings that way if the RH we loved was booked, we could do another date that my church had available!

We first called the church and made sure they had the date available and then booked the RH.

While I agree that the church is the most important part, it’s really hard to book that first. Unless you’re planning a wedding like 3 years in advance, RH’s don’t always have as many open dates as churches do.

With that being said, we booked our RH first and I don’t think we’re going to hell for it.

FH and I booked the reception hall first. We're not sure if we are going to have it in a church or at the reception hall..

We held the date at the RH, then booked the church, then finalized the RH. DON'T let the church know you 've gotten the RH. They take offense to not being first!

yea you really need to book the church first since theres no wedding without the church ceremony (well that is if you are gettin married in a church)....my mother was also mad when i suggested booking teh RH first, i really cant blame her though, i just wasnt thinking, the whole point of your reception is celebrating your marriage...which happens at the church...so no marriage no party.
