Church time?? Priest meeting tomorrow

I'm getting married in a Catholic Church in Queens on a Saturday. My reception is at The East Wind in Wading River and starts at 7pm. It takes about a hour and 20 minutes to get there. It says in my RH contract I can arrive a half an hour earlier than my start time. What time do you think is good for the ceremony? I'm meeting with the priest tomorrow. Thanks!!

You have to check with the church. I'm getting married on a Saturday and the latest time the church can have us is 1:30. We have to be out of the church by 2:45 because they have confessions at 3. Our reception doesn't start until 7 but the RH said we can get there 2 hours prior to take pictures. See what times the church has available and take it from there.

Are you planning on having a full mass? If so I would go with 2pm. Figure 2-3 ceremony, leave around 345 (if your having a receiving line and taking photos) then head off for photos and travel to venue. Also if you plan on going to cocktail hour I think a 2pm ceremony would be good.

Church time?? Priest meeting tomorrow

I haven't met with my priest yet but I plan on having my ceremony at 2 or 2:30 and starting my ch at 6. My venue church and where I'm taking pictures are all within 10minutes of eachother.

Re: Church time?? Priest meeting tomorrow

I would say 2:30 for a mass and 3 for just a ceremony.

2:30 to 3:30 for mass
3:30 to 5 for receiving line/pics in church
5-6:30 for travel time
and you're at the catering hall for a half hour before.

Or 3-3:30 for a service which would be about a half hour.

Our church basically told us it could be any time. It just depends on the church and what time their Saturday night service is.

Which church? We're in Queens too.

Which church, I'm getting married at St. helens in howard Beach.
I would think 2:30-3 this way you have time for pictures at the church and hopefully RH before cocktail hour.
