Re: church times
Many Catholic churches won't because most have a mass around 5pm on Saturday.
We're getting married at 4:30, but my church (St. Thomas in West Hempstead) has a main church and a chapel. I wanted to be in the main church so badly, but the latest ceremony they can do it 3pm. Our CH starts at 7pm (and we're not having a mass). That would just be too long for our guests to wait around - and I figured many wouldn't come to the church then.
So, we are having it in the chapel...

Re: church times
We were looking for that...I am catholic and my FH is Lutheran. We booked our reception for 7:00 p.m. on a saturday. The latest ceremony we got at a catholic church was 3:00 p.m. Some catholic churches wouldn't even go that late. That's because they have mass at 5 on sat, and usually confession before mass.
We looked into my FH's lutheran church and I think it was a little more flexible because they do mass at 7 p.m., but it is a tiny church. Any questions write back....

Re: church times
you'll be kucky if you can find a catholic church that will do anything after 3:30 PM... 3:30 is usually the latest they will do and if you do this time, it's usually a ceremony and not a Mass....
Most Catholic churches have a 5:00 PM Mass and Confession before-hand... hence no weddings after 3-3:30....
Some large parishes have chapels where their schedule might be a little different.... St. Agnes in RVC has a grogeous chapel (very small though) and St. Catherine's in Franklin Square has one too--- again though, often times you MUST be a parishoner (or the immediate family) to use a church.
