Just another example of why FH had no desire to get married in the church... I find the RCC so hypocritical! They run it like a corporation NOT a religious organization out to do good.... Good luck darling, I'm sure it will all work out... don't listen to him, definitely call, I sure as hell would, I would be calling 2 times a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon asking to speak directly with the deacon or father that would be performing the ceremony. OMG, best idea - at sunday mass this week try to pull the deacon/priest aside and explain the situation to him!

WE WILL GO ON SUNDAY and talk to them!!!

Fh and I had already made plans, once Mass is done on Sunda (since we want it in Spanish) we will decided to talk to the Father, who is the Bishop too... so he can talk to the Deacon if the Deacon is not there to grab him too!!!!

I told Fh if WE were NOT really catholic and getting married in a church wouldnt mean anthing, THEN I WOUDL MARRY IN THE RECEPTION... but this is important to us...

Is it possible for you to use another church? Ive seen MANY Sunday church weddings.. there is no way you are the first one!

This is our Church u know... we always go here...
We been members... I was in the Choir there....
I mean... We dont want to use antoher Church....

and We know we are NOT the firsts one...!!

Im sooo sorry!! I don't understand!! I have never heard of this!! Many of my friends got married on Sundays!!!

I'm just so surprised they pulled that line on you.. however you aren't the first couple I've heard be given a heard time when they go to book their church... GOOD LUCK!!!!

I've been with them since 2001... (I came to usa on 2000 but it took me a while before I wwarm up to go out...)
I will go on Sunday after MASS and Speak to them!
I dont care what he says...
Ur right... I SHOULD TALK TO THE DEACON...

Maybe they have MERCY on me once I speak to them!

not all churchs do weddings on sundays... thats just the way it is. why dont you be flexible with the date- see if those halls have sat day in october- sat and sunday prices arent that different. if you want to stick to that church you may have to be flexible.

The diff in prices in my place for sat to sun is like 45 pp!!!!

Def talk to the deacon personally. I bet you'll get further that way. And different churches handle weddings differently.

If I were you and you really want a Sunday wedding get married at your reception hall by an officiant who does ceremonies.

Sometimes the church can be very difficult that is why there were some that we decided not to go to at all.. It can be just as beautiful in hall!!

what church are you planning to get married at?

Veronica im going to be honest with you. St. Marthas is greedy and unless they have stacks of envelopes in their hands with your name on it ( and they do keep track. My sister needed A letter from them to be my nephews godmother and they told her they wouldnt write on bc she didnt donate enough and made her go to mass and give even more) they wont look at you twice. Also if you told them about looking at reception halls first they feel insulted that you didnt ask them first. Its stuff like this that makes me ashamed to be catholic! Good luck to you sweetheart i really hope they let you do it.
