Someone above said to use toothpaste - my jeweler told me absolutely NOT to use toothpaste. you can use a toothbrush though, i have a certain jewelry cleaner that i use w/ a toothbrush.

what is the best way to clean your E- ring at home?
mine looks so much better when the Jewler steams it- how can I get it as nice with out going there!
I've tried everything and it never looks as good as when they steam clean it....I love the way it sparkes right after they do it.

Re: Cleaning E- Ring?
hmm, my jeweler told me not to use a toothbrush because the brisles are too hard and can loosen the stones, he said only to use the lil brush that comes in the jewelry cleaner, i dunno, i also tried windex and i thinks its works like magic, soooo sparkly

I wanted to have a jeweler clean my e-ring 1-2 days before the wedding. Can I just go into a random jeweler and ask or do I have to pretend to want to buy something? Will they clean it for free?
When I want my ring steam cleaned I usually go to one of the little kiosks in the mall instead of one of the chain stores. They steam it for me for $1 and I don't have to worry about pretending I want to buy something.
When I clean my rings and other jewelry at home I use ammonia and water and a baby toothbrush. The bristles are softer and bend easily.

Best tip!
Polident tablets (the denture cleaner stuff). i know it sounds weird but the diamond guy we used recommended it and it works great. Use a cup of hot water and drop the tablet in (it fizzes) then drop the ring in and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Then clean with toothbrush.
Sparkles like crazy.
Me too but I use effident...it sparkles & there is really nothing to do you just let it sit. I believe this tip was on oprah.
