any other ideas besides this. Both myself and FI don't like it.
TIA

I've seen the bells. very cute. Actually, I was at Cedarhurst Paper today (in Oceanside) and they sell them there by the box. Very inexpensive. They probably have them at Michael's or something also.
Oriental Trading has them and they are very inexpensive!

Sorry I know I don't belong here! I just wanted to add that I hate the clinking as well!! I had my mom and mil spread it around that we really werent crazy about the idea casually to people ( not the day of the wedding but at my shower or other family gatherings) and wouldnt you know. Not one person clinked a glass all night!

I like the bells and that is what we are going to do but I'm sure people will still clink the glasses because I think that is what most people are most familiar with.
Right, and be prepared for that (Especially from guys...you think they're going to pick up some little bell?). Don't get annoyed by the clinking if/when it happens...just shut them up as quickly as possible!

I was in target last night, and they're having a HUGE sale on wedding items. They have packages of silver or white bells (five per pack) for a buck!

Re: Clinking glasses to kiss
thank you everyone for your ideas and your opinions. I will discuss the bells with my FI and see what he says. If its a go, i'm going to target. I've been meaning to go there anyway cause i've heard that there wedding section has become quite large. I didn't even know they had one till I started posting here.
I like the idea of spreading the word quitely around about the no glass clinking. I can see how creative i can be with a poem or something to put on the tables with the bells.
thanks again ladies.
I LOVE THIS BOARD

Re: Clinking glasses to kiss
I was just thinking, I have been to a couple of weddings that had the bells, and to be honest, the bells didn't really make any sound, and people clinked the glasses anyway. Is it really soooooooo bad? People just want to see the newlyweds kiss!!
