clueless about photos...

clueless about photos...

So since our date is now set and the RH is booked, next comes photographer right? Or at least this is what I am told. So I started researching... I had no idea it was this much! Ive been told the photographer is usually the 2nd most expensive thing after the RH but seriously??? FH is freaking out.
I used the booking tool on Duet's website and got a price I thought was a lot... but when I spoke to my friends and family, they all seems to think this is a fantastic price. Maybe I am just totally clueless?
What is everyone's budget for photos?

I cant have a big budget like everyone else here...
photos packages are more than $3000....
If ur lucky u find someone reasonable...
I will get someone from Craigslist... they charge $60 per hour ...
I went with one phographer last week and they told me their packages start at $4000!!!!!!
I cant afford that...
So I am happy with having $60 per hr.....

Besides We need to save more money towards our house =)

okay.. yea.. the quote i got was about that! i guess thats what it is

this is going to be hard trying to get this through FH's head.

his mouth drops open every time we talk about how much things are....its not totally his fault.. he is from ireland and weddings there just dont cost this much. i feel like i should be carrying around those defibulator paddles when we go visit vendors just in case his heart stops one of these days LOL

i just booked thomas paul- he is amazing... i got good prices from him and from patken... i haven't decided on whether or not i am getting a video yet, but both companies offer them

I'm paying $5800 for photo and video and we are getting A LOT of stuff. But you can definitely get photo for under $3000 if you don't do video.

we're def. not doing a video. we just dont want one. we are going to have someone film the ceremony, but thats it.
the price from duet included an engagement session which i thought was great

our photo is almost 5,500....if your not doing video i def think you can get photo for uner 5,000 without a doubt...patken,,duet, thomas paul are all good ones that would give you great prices for just photo packages

yep the prices I was quoted were about $3500 without video. you do get a huge package and e pics.

and yes I think its insane!

Ariana Studios-Wedding Plaza in Floral Park does a lot of wedding related things under 1 roof for a low price. Theres another 2010 bride who is getting photo, video, tuxes, limos, flowers and DJ all for $5K.

I am paying 4K for photo and video from them. Its a good deal and they've been in business for 20+ years.

Definitely try Ariana studios!!! I just recieved my proofs and they were FANTASTIC loved loved them ask for Konrad to shoot. They have great packages, they came recomended to me by family and friends. They work with any budget good luck and take it from me enjoy the day it goes by in a flash.

My cheapest quote was $3600. Basic in camera edit video package, 1 digital B & G album (8x10 or 10x10), 2 duplicate parent albums, 75 Thank Yous, 10 hours of photgraphy, High Resolution Disk, and I think but I'm not sure the proofs printed out also. I think an engagement session was $125 more.

Our budget was set at $3000 for photo (no video). We are bookoed with Duet and our total package came out to $2700 and that was for 2 photogs for 11 hours
