Co-op interview

Anyone who owns a Co-op, what is the interview like? what happens? what types of questions do they ask?
My BIL told me that they grill you and it was worse than going for a job interview..
Now I am nervous!

We got asked hardly anything, except where did we work, etc... it was easy, nothing to be nervous about, they just want to know you don't look weird and have jobs.

Our interview was a joke!! These two old ladies were just chatting with us about life. They asked us what we did for a living and we told them how we're getting married and all that good stuff. Old ladies love a good story. Needless to say, they loved us. I think I've said it before...the people on the board just want to be a pain in the A$$ and ask questions to get you into their little 'co-op club'. It's really a joke...

I think each interview is different. Ours was cake - it was more like we were interviewing the board than the other way around. They went over the rules of the building, talked about board meetings, etc. We knew we were approved just by the kind of questions they asked.

My girlfriend, on the other hand, was completely grilled to the nth degree. They asked her a lot of personal finance questions (like what she planned to do with the money she had left over after the purchase of the apartment!) that she felt were really intrusive. Her building is a little more 'uppity' than mine is (for lack of a better word) even though they're only a few blocks apart. That might have had something to do with it.
