Anyone's maintenance increase in the past few years? Particularly this year?

Re: Co Op Owners
Yes, because of increased real estate tax, fuel costs (for heat) and insurance.

Re: Co Op Owners
Ours is going up a little this year. They cited higher fuel costs & insurance as the reason.

We've owned our co-op for almost 2 years, and it's gone up twice already....3% each time. It's insane!!!

Re: Co Op Owners
My co-op's maintenance hasn't gone up in the past two years I believe. They decided to pass a one-time assessment instead to cover the increased fuel costs. This is one of the reasons why my co-op shows time and time again they know what they are doing.
The advantage of this over increasing maintenance = better sales figures because increased maintenance would drive sales down.
A one-time assessment will not get noticed in the sales numbers.

Re: Co Op Owners
we have only been here 8 months......but so far, no increase
actually, the STAR exemption increased, so we're paying less than we originally were

Re: Co Op Owners
Ours went up about $30 because of fuel costs. But we did receive a free months maintenance because of a tax break and we also sent in a star application through our office which we will receive $300.

Same with me. Two increases in two years. PLUS a recent one-time assessment for $650.
