Cocktail Hour

Anyone doing anything unique or different for theirs?

Because dad's side is Puerto Rican...we are having the whole suckling pig. As well as a Yankee ice sculpture...

Sometimes people think the pig is scary...but it is such a necessary at my family functions

cocktail hours arent the norm in Ireland but we are going to have one with canopes and mulled wine.


Nina- Russo's cocktail hour is off the heezy for sheezy- simply amazing!


ETA- Pig is an Italian thing as well!!!!

we are doing the piggy too!! actually I am going to have centerpieces for the CH room too. something simple, so that will be differnt.
we are going to have the ice sculptures nd we are debating on having live music there too. we'll see.

I guess after growing up in a Greek house and seeing the full lamb with the poll going through its whole body being cooked ..the pig isnt that scary looking..

Our hall has lots of food. Which is one of the reasons we chose it!! We decided against the whole suckling. We're doing a pork roast instead. We're also having trumpeters for our CH with an organist. Should be cool.

The pig is scary but my family looooves it too. Some people even go with a rabbit
(Russo's will do that if you request it). Aside of the rabbit they have an amazing CH!!!

I am hoping to have a champagne fountain. champagne signature drinks passed around, the seafood boat station and salumeria station (Italian deli station). Maybe a strolling violin player at the CH. We'll see what the budget allows

we are having three martini bars in the CH and also a sushi bar, pig and a huge antipasti display

We are doing that & my FH has a harley , so our ice sculpture is a Harley. Its cool The bp room has cameras where we watch the whole ch.. I think ill come up with some thing else but for now thats it,,

Nothing different on this end. I wish I can add some Dominican dishes since FH is Dominican but my hall does not offer a Dominican ethnic station as far as Latin food they only offer a Mexican station.

I may have a Dominican cake for an extra cake at the wedding. Mmmmmm!!!! Dominican cake is the best!!!!!
