Cocktail hour

Anyone not going to their cocktail hour so they can make a grand entrance during the reception?

Re: Cocktail hour

We won't be going to CH. I want to make a grand entrance, and will MAKE SURE that the bridal attendant brings us A LOT of food and drinks!! lol...As for greeting guests, I know it may look rude but I definitely do not plan on walking from table to table to greet guests. We're paying for this biaatch and I want to dance and enjoy myself. You can congratulate me on the dancefloor!

lol. I seriously doubt I will be going to mine also. I really want to make my grand entrance. I will walk around all night and greet all of our guests.

Re: Cocktail hour

Soooo we aren't seeing eachother before the wedding (FH and I) my whole family- all 200+ of us know how nervous I am about missing coctail hour b/c I dont' want to spend reception saying HI to everyone. So I have my aunts wake all weekend and Funeral tomorrow.. and was just chatting about everything. Everyone was like.... take pics during CH and if we dont see you on the dance floor then whatever!! I am kind of relieved soooo manypeople were like do what you need. I mean I will make sure to say hi to everyone but I know my family and they will make that day as easy as possible for me. FH is having like 35 people so thats easy!

Re: Cocktail hour

I am going to miss part of mine because I will be taking photos at the RH (we are having ceremony there) but I wont go to the rest of it and have the bridal attendant bring the food to us.

I don't think we are going to ours. I think we'll be taking photos for part of it ( we have 90 minutes of CH) and then relaxing for a bit in the suite to regroup.
I've actually been surprised with how many girls I see on here saying they are going to theirs, just cause i've never seen that at any wedding I've been to, but to each her own

That is why I asked the question. I have never seen the bride at any wedding I have been to, I was also surprised to see how many brides on here plan on going to theirs. I don't think we will be going to our either. I was told that the bridal attendant would bring the food to us in the bridal suite.

We're going - we'll munch a bit in the suite before we come in so we actually get some food, but then we'll do our rounds and get the greetings out of the way during CH so we can party during the reception.

We haven't decided yet but I think we're leaning towards not going to our CH.

Re: Cocktail hour

we're getting married at RH & FH doesn't want to see me b4 the ceremony; so the CH is our only time for pic's together. So we won't be attending

We're not going to the CH. We'll take some more pictures when we get there and then enjoy our private cocktail hour in the bridal suite.

we are definitely going to ours. chateau does a boat entrance during the cocktail hour. so i want to get all out pics done before that, and show up on teh boat, adn then say all my hello's etc. also we are getting a steel drummer that I want to see too...

edit: I have actually seen a lot of brides coming to part of the CH. I think its getting more common

Re: Cocktail hour

i'm surprised so many of you are going to your CH!!!
I've been to so many weddings and have been part of so many bridal parties and the bride never attended the CH.

My FH & I will not be attending the CH - its going to be 90 minutes long and we will be taking pictures through some of it so that we don't take pictures during the reception and miss it.

Re: Cocktail hour

We definitely want to be at the CH as long as possible so we can get most of our 'hellos' out of the way and we actually have time to enjoy our reception!

We're doing pictures before the ceremony though so we will have time to do it all

FH and I plan to take pictures BEFORE the ceremony just so we can make it to cocktail. I want to taste what we paid for and spend maximum time with all our guests!

I'm not going to mine, they'll have food waiting for us in our bridal suite I don't see myself eating too much that day anyway (depending on how much dress fits lol)

Re: Cocktail hour

We will take maybe 15 min to ourselves in the bridal suite to celebrate alone and then my fat assss is going to CH to eat all the yummy FOOOOD and say hello to my guests!! We'll be taking pictures before the ceremony so that we won't have to do any during CH.

There will be people at the wedding that I don't get to see much and will only be in town for the weekend, so I want to make sure I'm getting the opportunity to spend time with everyone as well as party it up
