Cocktail hour

Anyone not going to their cocktail hour so they can make a grand entrance during the reception?

my mom doesn't think i should go to the cocktail hour, but i want to go because i have a steel drum band i want to hear and i figure i can get some of my greetings done during the cocktail hour so i don't have to do it strictly during the wedding and i can dance and have fun- but haven't made a firm decision yet.

We defninitely want to be at our cocktail hour. We want to enjoy all the food, greet our guests, and we will be having a steel drum or another type of music. Plus I am surprising FH with bagpipers at the end. Then we will make our entrance into the reception.
We figure this will take less time away from having to greet everyone during the reception and can have more time for dancing.

We are going to ours and we are still making a grand entrance. We may leave the CH a few minutes before it ends but we are definately going.

I don't think we are going to ours. I think we'll be taking photos for part of it ( we have 90 minutes of CH) and then relaxing for a bit in the suite to regroup.
I've actually been surprised with how many girls I see on here saying they are going to theirs, just cause i've never seen that at any wedding I've been to, but to each her own

We are def. going to be at our CH. I don't care about messing up 'the grand entrance'. I want to enjoy the CH and all the delicious food! Plus it will give us an opporunity to walk around and greet the some of the guests so we wont have as many to greet during the reception.

That is why I asked the question. I have never seen the bride at any wedding I have been to, I was also surprised to see how many brides on here plan on going to theirs. I don't think we will be going to our either. I was told that the bridal attendant would bring the food to us in the bridal suite.

We may miss some of our cocktail hour to take pictures. Since we're having our ceremony at the RH, we wont have time in between then and the CH to take pics. I dont want to see FH before the ceremony to take pics!!!

We are definitely going to the cocktail hour because we would like to make our rounds to everyone then, instead of while the party is going on.

Im undecided:

One half wants to make the GRAND ENTRANCE during the reception but the other half wants to.................

EAT some of the delicious food that we are spending all this money on!

No we will not be going to pur CH. Ive never been to a wedding where the bride and groom was there.. That time is for eating in our bridal suite and taking pics....

Every wedding I have ever been to the bride and groom attend the cocktail hour. Its time we can mingle with the guests and say lots of our hellos so we can enjoy the reception. I want to eat my cocktail hour!!!! Its gonna be amazing!!
