My friend's birthday is Saturday and FH and I are taking him and his wife out for coffee...any recommendations that AREN'T 'The Witches Brew' (it's too punk rock for me) or 'The Cup'?

Well, it's not in Nassau, but Milk and Sugar Cafe in Bay Shore is great...Worth the trip for you!

Sorry, I was gonna say, the only one I know if is Withces Brew- but I don't drink coffe & haven't live in Nassua in years.

what about Classy Coffee in Huntington Village? But it's in Suffolk and I'm not sure if it still exists..I used to go there all of the time..

I loved the Daily Grind on Long Beach Road but that closed a long time ago

I loved the Daily Grind on Long Beach Road but that closed a long time ago
eogora, I lived right by it in Oceanside, I looooved that place, I couldn't believe they closed it..also there was a place right across the street from the Lynbrook movie theater, but it burned down, supposedly it was supposed to re open soon, but I haven't seen it yet

The place across from the movie theater is back...its called The Beanery....its actually a little further down now....its really nice and remodeled.

Pickles, I spent much of my teenage years at rhe Daily Grind (as did FH since he lived practically around the corner from it) I actually wept when it closed!

I think one opened in Bellmore called The Grind. I haven't been there yet though.

there is also one near mulcahys on park ave maybe called the cup not sure . but they are good!!!

That is too funny. We thought we were SOOOOO cool when we got our older guy friends to drive us there in high school. Happily by the time I was driving, we were done with it.
Ahhh, Daily Grind!! It wasn't open all that long, we were probably all there at the same time. I'd KILL for an iced hot chocolate!

Try...Caffe Napoli on 102 Rockaway Ave Valley Stream, NY. The desserts and coffee are awesome.

Too bad not being from Long Island the only ones I can think of are MIB, which is gone, Witches Brew (my ex-bf took me there in HS), and the Cup, b/c DH is from Wantagh. Sorry I'm no help

The Broadway Beanery in Lynbrook! It burned down but they just rebuilt it. It is now on Atlantic Avenue near the train station. I love this place!
