cold sore

Anyone else get them..? I use to get them all the time but then I got this prescription medicine that stopped it, until today. I got one on my upper lip and its really swollen and hurts so bad I'm a BM at a wedding on Saturday, i pray it goes away.

I used to get them a lot too but hvnt in a long time.
Abreva used to work. An old roommate used to get a prescribed medicine from her doctor that worked really well also.
You should get a prescription from your doctor so that it heals faster.

My college roommate got them all of the time and she used Abreva. It worked for her.

As said before try a prescription it will treat it faster and help soothe some of the symptoms that you having along with it.

I have a prescription that I keep reapplying every hour, I think I'm just inpatient and I want it to go away already.

ok i know this is herpes medicine, but valtrex works great. I had a bad cold sore and my dr gave me a prescription.. ( yes he told me it was for herpes) but it worked in record time. Ive heard abreva works well too and i think theres another one...i think it's a lip balm thing...you can prob get it at CVS

really? maybe i can ask her for a prescription, right now I'm using Zovirax but it doesn't seem to be making it better.

Use ice too.. It helps the swelling!!

ahhh i hate them and get them all the time you can get lysine its a pill form and its supposed to help but its a virus and it just has to do its thing i think by saturday it should be fine also when your home put some toothpaste on it to dry it out

L-lysine can be used to treat mouth and genital lesions caused by herpes simplex virus as well as shingles caused by herpes zoster viruses. Taking lysine supplements can speed recovery time and reduce the chance of recurrent breakouts of the herpes infection.

I used to get these a lot. ...it is a herpes virus. The BEST medication to take for it is Valtrex and it only works well once you feel the tingeling of it coming on...so by now it will just run its course. You can also take the L-lysine every day to help too. I used to use zovirax as a topical and it hardly works. I always have a stash of valtrex on hand just in case esp. in the summer when Im in the sun. Ask your PCP or even your GYN.

I just had one 2 weeks ago-I think it was from 1)being out in the sun and 2) stress.

They absolutely s u ck ! I got this perscription creme I dont remember what its called. I think zovarax or something. But anyway, it doesnt really stop them from taking their toll, but it helps clear them up very quickly. it was gone within a few days.
