Cold Sore!

Ugh. How many of you get them? I get them once in a while. Well I got it from this weekend being in the sun. I am so pissed. But I have to be grateful I'm not getting married this weekend. I am dreading getting one on my wedding day.

It sux. I am in pain and I swear everyone at work is looking at it

Remedies anyone?

My friend told me to get it also. She said its the only thing she swears by for cold sores.

I also heard of vinegar. I dont care if it burns as long as it gets rid of it

seriously....go to a dermatologist....they've got sooooo many things to help with cold sores! i get them pretty much every month around hormonal times....i take valtrex for cold sores and have a cream in case of a break out, zovirax (you think abreva is good? this guy kicks its a$$!)

the week of your wedding, you can take the valtrex, and it will prevent you from getting a cold sore.....believe me, i feel your pain!

omg i got one yesterday. i think it was from going swimming and the sun on the weekend. It's not that bad this time, but it ***** and i am i don't have one for the wedding.

Do you have a sunburn? If you got it from the sun, there's a good chance it's sun poisoning and not a cold sore. In that case, it will take a bit longer than a cold sore to heal. I had this many years ago, in my early teens and it hurt like hell. The only thing you can really do is keep it moisturized so it doesn't crack.

Now I am constantly putting lip balm with spf on my lips when I'm in the sun. You should do the same. Feel better!

Do you have a sunburn? If you got it from the sun, there's a good chance it's sun poisoning and not a cold sore. In that case, it will take a bit longer than a cold sore to heal. I had this many years ago, in my early teens and it hurt like hell. The only thing you can really do is keep it moisturized so it doesn't crack.

Now I am constantly putting lip balm with spf on my lips when I'm in the sun. You should do the same. Feel better!

oh, and stay away from citris and tomatoes.....they can hinder the healing, and actually bring cold sores on....so limit before the wedding too! it'll get bette! don't worry.....worrying hinders the healing too!

Honestly? My favorite is the Chap-Stick w/ 30spf. Since I've been using that (over 15 years!) I've never had another sun problem.

I hear ya!!! I just got TWO!! One on my top and one on the bottom!!!!! My Bacholerette party is this weekend and I am dreading it!! I hope they go down more. I am going to the doctor tonight and hopefully getting some meds for it.

I get them at least once a month and I have the Zovirax. I am going to ask them for the Valtrax. I hope it works.

i take the valtrex every day.....and haven't had one in a good 4+ months but whenever i go to get my lip waxed, i'll take 2 the night before and two right before going......i think i cracked the code with that one! the zovirax does help soooo much when i actually get one.....which is usually right around TOM.....which really sux, cause you feel soooo ugly already!

I get them once in a blue moon but got 2 on my lips from this weekend ....its disgusting. I'm walking w/ my head down b/c i don't want anyone to look at me.

I just went to Duane Reade and bought anbesol for cold sores max strength. It tingles and i have very very slight numbing....hope it works

Awwww! That stinks!! Hopefully they go away soon!

Yeah i hope they do too. I am so self conscious about it. LOL I ended up showing my co-worker and he called me Bubbles. UGHH!!!
