well...i mean, the place is cute...they had like singing workers and stuff...but it's very busy and frenzied in there...it's hard to even think, let alone decide what you want...they have several base flavors and you can pick different things to mix into the icecream...or they have pre-designed little 'creations' they call them and you can just order from those...
i had a strawberry shortcake dream or whatever...my FH had a coffe something...
it came to 11.00 for the two of us...

wow, that is a lot for 2 people. I wish there was a Dairy Queen or Sonic somewhere close by. I'm originally from the midwest, and crave these places!!!! LOL

A place called 'Wolfies' just opened in our town (Huntington) and it is forzen custard, it is AMAZING! It tastes like you're eating cream. It makes carvel and baskin robbins taste so airy and processed. I hear they are opening more up, locally they are a chain through out Massachussetts. Try it, they are affordable too, $5 for 2 people!! I'm addicted!!

I love that place! Sorry you had a bad experiance. It's much better if you don't go at night... i went during the day (of course, this was at one near my school... in a town that loses half its population during the summer when school is out). but it was much easier to think and decide what you wanted. I was overwhelemed when i went to the one by roosevelt field and there was a line about 8 people long.
Cake batter is the best though... i want some now!

That is our favorite. All ice cream places are expensive. Carvel is 4.00 for a regular sundae now.

Where in Massapequa?
On Merrick road in the shopping center with Ace Hardware and Gino's Pizza. Across the street from Burn's Park.

Interesting -- I always wonder what the fuss is about and was thinking it might not be worthy of all the hype..hmmm
Though I have yet to try it .. we never had one in Westchester and they finally opened a store about 1 mile from us .. it was shortly before the wedding and I was a dieting nut or else I would have already (since everyone raves about it so!)
There has NEVER been ONE day since its opened where the line isn't out the door and down the block so that always gets DH and I discouraged to try it..
Will have to get it out of my system , though ...

I hate this...Generally this would have turned me off too...But FH was set on going...(I was too..) Perhaps my expectations were too high...My favorite icecream is still Breyers Cookies N'Creme.

I love the cake batter flavor. The french vanialla was disspointing. I went to the times square location twice. It wasn't that crowded, especilly the time I went after work, around 6: 30/7:00
The first time was very overwhleming--i just picked the first one of the creations that sounded good---birthday cake remix! It was yummy!
My favorite ice cream ever was custard beach, which was in Grand Central. they closed.

The one on Central Avenue is crazy! Fh always mocks people for waiting on line when we drive by. They are supposed to open one in White Plains in the new City Center complex or whatever that's called ( by Target)
But believe or not, the Times Square location isn't bad on a weeknight.

I wasn't impressed with this place either...I tried the cake batter flavor...it was just WAY TOO SWEET...plus with the add ins...it was just disgusting and very disappointing.

Tell me about it, Heather... it truly is crazy. DH and I also MOCK all those folks on line too on Central Ave.. LOL. I did tell DH if he really want to go and wait we will go.. or else I'll meet him at Friendly's while I get my favorite, a Peanut Butter Reese's Sundae!!
I never even know about the one in Times Square.. and I used to work right around there! Clueless I am
I LOVED Custard Beach in Grand Central also!! now that was seriously yummy!!
