Color issue- what do you all think?

so, after speaking with my dress maker, I realized that the design on my dress will be in ivory lace applied onto the satin- not the gold tone embroidery I thought (for reasons I won't bore you with, having to do with the seems of the dress) so since gold is now not a necessity and silver is so much more readily available, here's my q-

do you ladies think silver and ivory work together?

I think EVERYTHING and ivory works. I think it sounds great.

ETA maybe more of a pewter though. Could that be an option?

Jess...I'm honestly not a fan of silver with ivory. I think it will look too washed out and not blend right.

ETA: I didn't realize I wrote white...I think white and silver go VERY well together, but not ivory b/c ivory has a goldish tone to it.

You know what it is?

Cream is a warm color and so is gold...

White and silver are cool colors....

i think either the ivory/silver or the ivory/gold will go. alot or most dresses that are ivory that have beading have some sort of silver in it.

however my gown is ivory/gold.

I partly disagree with this. Silver and white look amazing together, not washed out at all.

However, silver and ivory may or may not work...depending how you pair them. It depends on the intensity of each color and how they 'blend'. Same thing with gold and silver...sometimes it looks bad, other times it looks beautiful.

And I couldn't get the picture, but Reem's 'Forever' and 'Moment' are ivory with silver and are sick!

anyway, it's not the beading ON the dress I am talking about- I mean for accessories like headpieces and jewelry.

i think either would be fine, i think it's just a matter of personal preferance...

Sorry, I was in my own little world getting pics for you.

YES - accesories CAN be found. I would go with rhodium dipped accesories...and 'antique' looking silver to give it a 'regal' feel. Nothing too shiny since that belongs in the white family...something with patina.

SASHA...the Reem with silver and gold ( the DEEEEP V) is MY DRESS!

For ideas...

Reem Acra's 2003 Bridal Show she used a lot of ivory and silver on dresses...her accesories were gunmetal in color, soft...understated...gorgeous.
