so, after speaking with my dress maker, I realized that the design on my dress will be in ivory lace applied onto the satin- not the gold tone embroidery I thought (for reasons I won't bore you with, having to do with the seems of the dress) so since gold is now not a necessity and silver is so much more readily available, here's my q-
do you ladies think silver and ivory work together?

For ideas...
Reem Acra's 2003 Bridal Show she used a lot of ivory and silver on dresses...her accesories were gunmetal in color, soft...understated...gorgeous.
Good luck sweetie!
GUNMETAL is perfect! Sasha - always coming thru!

I think for accessories you are fine! Take a swatch of the dress with you and you'll get a good idea of how it will look.
I keep a swatch of my dress with me all the time. Good thing too. Yesterday, we went to get tuxes and we decided to match FH's tie and vest with my dress which is a pearl color. His tux shirt will be off white and not white (an oh so slight but nice difference). The groomsmen are also in off white shirts (but black ties and vests).
My headpiece (still being made) will have Austrian crystals and pearls set in silvertone. My earrings will be in silvertone with pearls to coordinate. I will also have a pearl and rhinestone cuff bracelet with the rhinestones in silvertone. So yes, silver and ivory does coordinate.

Aw Jess you're so sweet!
If you want to order embroidery instead of lace, let me know and I'll find the info for my Indian embroidery vendor...they have to order from India, but I think you have time (although they have SICK stuff in the store, really crazy hand beading on different fabrics - I didn't want to leave the store! )

I LOVE silver, but I honestly think it goes better with white, and that gold goes better with ivory.

Re: Color issue- what do you all think?
It depends on the shade of ivory! some ivory dresses look almost white while others almost have a gold sheen to them. I prefer silver/white gold/platinum to yellow to I say go for it!

Re: Color issue- what do you all think?
I fell in love with my wedding dress because of the top and the combination of ivory and silver. So, yes! Ithink they go great together!
my dress is ivory... with gold and silver, its called ivory gold, it is more gold detail with some silver thread in it.
