Colored vests too prom-ish?

DH wore a silver/platinum vest and tie, and his guys wore grape/eggplant colored vests and ties that matched the BM dresses perfectly. i thought it looked great, and not 'prom-ish' at all.

the guys are wearing a sage green vest with a texture on it and sage green ties with a different texture too...
Fh is wearing an ivory one to match my dress color...

no way, not prom at all. my BM dresses are brown also. were doing these brown vests below. but my fh will have a white vest like my dress

i think i am going to keep my guys in black vests and tie or in platnium. my bm dresses are pink and ivory.

i think to avoid the prom look, just choose a complimentary color and not an exact match of the bm dresses..
