Concern at TWOTY
I really thought all day about whether I was going to post this on the boards or just FM CS, but I decided I should post, althought it might seem silly to some. I'm also going to send CS a link to this post because I think they should know.
When FH and I got home from TWOTY, he realized all the quarters from the change holder int he cup holder on his center console were missing.

The dimes and nickels were still there and it doesn't have a slot for pennies this this one does. He's anal about keeping the change stocked until you can't fit anymore in each slot. He keeps extra change and all the pennies in the cup underneath and restocks the slots whenever he uses some, so we know it was full when we valeted the car. Also, that extra change in the bottom wasn't touched, just the coins in the slot.
The actual loss of change is not a big deal, but I know that FH purposely keeps nothing of value in his car, and if he does, he has a valet key so that you can't access anything except the door and the ignition (ie, you can't open the glove box) but I know that other people keep things like GPS units and other valuables in their cars and they don't have valet keys. I hope no one else is missing anything, and even though it's not right, it's not such a big deal that the quarters are missing, I'm just concerned about what it might mean for other people who valet their cars at CLM.
I called CLM this afternoon and spoke to Lou. He was very concerned and very apologetic and he told me he was going to talk to the GM about it and see if any other complaints came in. Really, his sincere response and his apology were enough for me, I just hope no one else got ripped off more seriously.
Also, I'm not considering this a reflection on CLM as any place can hire a person who might decide not to do the right thing, so I don't blame them. I just think the particular valet that did it is a jerk. I hope he really needed the money THAT badly to have to steal quarters... that's a sad state of affairs.
Anyway, that's it. Moral of the story: Make sure you check your car and make sure nothing is missing.
ETA, FH tipped the guy at the end of the night, too, ... do people usually tip when they leave the car or when they pick it up? At the end of the night, usually, right? Cause FH always gives the valet at least $5 which I think is a decent tip, but he always gives it after... I wonder if that would have made a difference.
