We currently live in a co-op in Mineola, and our maintenance was just raised for the second time in fourteen months , and we're starting to think it would be just as expensive to move into a condo as to stay here and pay astronomically high maintenance.

Re: CONDOS in Mineola?
Remember when you buy a condo... you start to pay your real estate taxes on your own. Thats a big chunk of change to have to pay.
At least with a co-op... the taxes are included in your maintenance.

I don't know of condos, just the co-op on Horton Highway near the train station. I used to lease there and there were always apartments for sale.

I heard there is a lot of building going on there. I'm sure if you wait, the right opportunity will come.

Believe it or not, it would probably only come out to SLIGHTLY higher (if higher at all!) in the condo... it's raised that high.

What are those buildings they are building near the Fortunoff mall? I just past them yesterday and notice how many there are. Not sure if they are apts or townhouses, but there seem to be a lot going up.
