confession is good for the soul UPDATE:SPLURGE ITEMS INCLUDED

no one else would come close to understanding...

i have a confession to make.

i was very proud that i was sticking like glue to my budget. i would brag about it all the time to anyone who would listen.

well... no one knows that i'm about to blow my budget out of the water. there are a few things that i've suddenly come across that i MUST HAVE. and i might end up spending a truck load of money.

i'm a little scared

At least you got it out in the open now, do you feel better? A little slip...or a big one is ok. Especially if you've been strictly sticking to your budget. That's what I do...I can go a while without buying anything but then all of a sudden I want a bunch of things. It's normal...you're normal...go shopping a little bit!

ITEM #1:
i just read the post about having a cigar roller at your wedding. i'm half cuban and my fh LOVES cigars. i thought it would be the PERFECT wedding gift for him.... and for my daddy, who would be shocked to see that i've included something so obviously cuban.

ITEM #2:
i'll be pricing 'lighting' vendors. we're getting married at an old house that has a lake in the back yard. i want to have a lighting company light the lake with our names. i originally wanted fireworks at the end of the evening, but since we will be in the woods, it's a fire hazard

there you have it...

am i crazy? or is it justified?

They are great ideas, BUT, and don't take this the wrong way, not necessary. If you really have a budget you want to stick to, your wedding will be just as fabulous without those things. Especially the lights - what if the weather is bad? Or people don't go outside? You will have wasted all that money for nothing.

Go For it. (spoke like a woman that has totally blown her budget) In all fairness though I had an unrealistic just thought up a number and was gonna try it out budget.

I have to say, if you were reading my cigar post, there are cheaper ways of doing the cigar thing. Their is a vendor that people rave about who will roll at your wedding for like $450 but that is for 50 cigars, half rolled have premade. The place in the bronx is $750 for 150 all rolled there. It would be faculous to have something there that would touch your dad.

Aww! Go for it! It's your one and only day - and those will be the special touches you'll remember forever!!!

I'm still debating on special gobo lighting with our names in lights... maybe you'll inspire me to go for it!

And the cigar rolling just seems like it fits you PERFECTLY!! Even if you don't have a roller present, you can always have pre-rolled cigars laid out with your personalized wedding label. A cheaper way of having that nice touch.

It's all up to you... it's YOUR day! What's a LITTLE bit of extra money in the grand scheme of things if it's gonna make your day the one you dreamed about and make you happy? Just don't let us see your wedding on 'Platinum Weddings' with a $50,000 flower budget!!

my flower budget is only $800 and i went over by $53 ... i only did bouquets, bottonniers, and coursages.

For the cigar roller I say GO FOR IT!!!

For the lighting, I say price it out, and weigh the options very carefully. You can probably get a beautiful lighting effect with torches around the lake at a fraction of the cost of what you are proposing to do at this moment.

Love BOTH ideas!!!! I would do lighting if I could afford it (but I already splurged on OTHER things!! )

I think LaurenluvsTJ has a good point about the lighting but if you want to roll the dice, go for it! I like the cigar idea too!

We are all just a bunch of enablers on this website! No wonder all the FH's can't stand this site!
