no one else would come close to understanding...

i have a confession to make.

i was very proud that i was sticking like glue to my budget. i would brag about it all the time to anyone who would listen.

well... no one knows that i'm about to blow my budget out of the water. there are a few things that i've suddenly come across that i MUST HAVE. and i might end up spending a truck load of money.

i'm a little scared

Wow, this site is dangerous for me! The lighting sounds great. I wonder if The Coral House would approve it. Prob not though b/c the lake does not belong to them. Don't worry about going a little over, you are entitled to splurge on your wedding day and it sounds like those are great decisions!

You're the bride and its your day, make it what you envision it to be! I had a budget too and blew it. It happens.

we were going to do the cigar rolling too, my FH is half cuban too! But then we decided against it because we didn't want to do the cocktail hour outside, and they wouldn't let us do it indoors because of the new smoking laws.

But i say go for it!

okay, sorry i got excited and posted before i read on and saw your ideas. i think they're both great. i'm a 'go for it' kind of girl... i should be more practical, but that's what FH is for! it's your day and you only do it once, so make it your dream.
i wish beyond all wishes i could do a fireworks display.

The cigar roller sounds like it's perfect since it will touch both special men in your life

-- the lighting is a really cool/different touch... you don't see that .......it will probably make an impression on your guests --- but you have to figure out how much over that pushes you & if it is worth it..... Will money be refunded if you can't use it do to bad weather? --
I personally would forgo the lighting & do only the cigars

For the lighting, I say price it out, and weigh the options very carefully. You can probably get a beautiful lighting effect with torches around the lake at a fraction of the cost of what you are proposing to do at this moment.

I agree... or if there is sand at the lake, write your name in sand and have someone shine some flashlights on it.... just kidding !
