Constantly Stood up........

Constantly Stood up........

I am about through of complaining to FH about standing me up for bullsh*t reasons. Every other night he is standing me up and giving me bullsh*t reasons for the delay in him calling me. Just tonight, i had asked him at 5pm whether he wants me to cook him dinner and he said yes and that he will be here at 7:30pm. I waited all the way until 8:15 to call him to find out how far he was so that i know when to set the table and guess what....he doesn't pick up the phone. So after calling him three times, he calls me back and i hear him in some type of stadium or something. He didn't say hello at first and i assumed he couldn't hear me. Well after two attempts of me calling him back, that is when he picks up the phone and says he is at a church with his co worker. I told him that i will talk to him when he gets home. I almost felt like throwing all of the food in the garbage because he does this sh*t to me so often lately that it reminded me that he used to do this crap when we were highschool sweethearts. Stand me up for all of my dance recitals, plays, and all of my family big get - togethers.

I just told him now that i want to hold off on the wedding because i am not ready to go thru this sh*t for the rest of my life with a man that is so inconsiderate that he can't even call to let his fiance know that is either running late or just can't make it. I wouldn't have a problem if he calls me to let me know what is going on. He basically feels that he shouldn't feel the need to call me to let me know things like this. So right now the wedding is off. All the deposits we had made is going down the tube because i refuse to let this go. Sorry for the long vent but i really needed to air this out.

I am sorry you are going through this!
You should be proud of yourself for standing up for yourself. You absolutely should not be treated like that!

I'm so sorry you're going thru this.

I'm not sure if the wedding needs to be canceled but you must put your foot down or you will be going through this for years on end...

I already told him when he came in and i handed him back the engagement ring. He asked if I was sure and I told him that i can not live my life with a man constantly standing me up and does not have any consideration for me at all.

he just walked out? That's it? Or is he cooling off? I really hope this isn't the case. BUT GOOD FOR YOU! at least he knows now you're dead serious, and maybe he'll realize what' he's done and has been doing all along.

I give you a ton of credit for standing up for yourself. Even though you are losing your deposits you are gaining something in the long run: respect. If your husband does not respect you then you cannot have a happy life together. Being accountable is part of being in a relationship whether its dating, marriage or even just friendship. best of luck to you sweetie!

Re: Constantly Stood up........

He had stood me up far too many times to count. The thing that gets me is that he started to do this more over with the last 6 months. He was really notorious for doing this back when we were really young and a few times when we started dating right after college and now it is starting back up again.

I really don't have any regrets about calling it off. The only thing i regret right now is the amount i had put towards the wedding.

Im so sorry you are going through this. Im glad that you told him how you felt. He has a right to know how you feel by the way he is treating you. I think you guys should cool off and then talk before you completely call off the wedding. After you both have calmed down you can think more reasonably. I really hope you guys can owrk this out.

You have to put your foot down now or this will be the rest of your married life with him. Hes got to respect you.
Im sorry but I am glad you stuck up for yourself

He took back the ring and he is on his computer as if nothing happened. Our lease to our apartment is up this June, so we can part ways this upcoming month. I know that this may sound like i giving up on everything but believe me i had tried on numerous occasions to speak to him calmly about this and he thinks that i am nagging him. I really don't like to nag anyone and i told him many times that i don't give orders. I just ask to be treated like how he wants to treated and that is to be fully respected. He doesn't understand that.....

maybe he's not sweating it because he's done this in the past and you've taken him back?

I gave FH my ring back over some crappy behavior but I immediately knew in my heart that I didn't want to cancel. Only you know if it's worth saving and if the good far outweighs the bad

Re: Constantly Stood up........

^^Maybe. And now i feel like i gave too much and just tired of telling important things like this to to someone that should know better. I can't re-raise a man to learn things like this and i know that i have a lot of other important things to look forward to. Why should i even continue to argue with someone who is a brick wall. I am already counting the deposit money as a loss because i should have known better from the start. So foolish of me for thinking that he was supposed to be a different person. So I have already made up my mind to give up on this ship and start looking down a new path.

Ohh, I'm so sorry for you. Maybe this is what you need to do though. If you want to try and work things out, he needs to know you will not allow him to mistreat you. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you. I give you a lot of credit for standing your ground. You sound like a strong girl. I don't blame you. It is not unreasonable for you to ask for some respect, or just some common courtesy at the very least. Good luck to you!
